    I've been Money Tipped!
Also little girls' clothes - cannot agree more. In fact I do not put little bear in clothes that say things like 'little horror' or 'little monster' because he is lovely and I think it is encouraging a wrong thing. Encouraging little girls to wear clothes like that is not a good thing. Later how do you explain self respect and the right to be respectable? Also not comfortable to play in or warm. In this weather everyone should be wearing a vest!

:o I did put little bear in a t-shirt saying little devil for Halloween, but only as a fancy dress. He is so good, without any credit to me, just to him.

Must go, little bear waking up.

    Afternoon all

Snow still on the ground here in Kent. Went to Bluewater to see what they had left in the sales. Didn't go near the place between Christmas and New Year Been there, done that, got the bruises :D Not alot about as expected. Got myself a half price calendar though. The one my friend from Liverpool sent me was lovely but no room to write appointments etc on it and everytime I opened the kitchen cupboard it knocked it off the wall as it was a little to wide for where I put them. I am on a bit of a health kick as myself, DH and DS could all do with losing a few pounds now Christmas is over and so I bought a microwave steamer in Lakeland for rice and vegetables as they are supposed to be healthier when steamed. Anyone got one and is it any good? I had one of those tower steamers but omg taking them apart to wash took forever and a day and drove me mad. Sold that at a boot fair in the summer.

Am in agreement with all of you regarding the skimpy clothing for little girls. Am glad my DIL is of the same opinion so DGD is always dressed like a little girl and not dressed like a lady of the night!!

Have just had a quick hoover round as have to go into work unexpectedly tomorrow as someone is off with the flu and I was already having Wednesday off as have a dentist appointment for myself, DH and DSs. We all go up to London and use the one I have always had which is right next door to the block of flats where my Mum lived. He is NHS and a very good dentist so loathe to lose him so am happy to do the long trip up there. Will seem strange going up there now mum has passed away and we won't be popping in to see her after the dentist.

Will try my new steamer out and cook some runner beans in it to go with the shepherds pie we are having tonight for dinner.

    Hugs to all.

Hi all. Have only had time to skim the thread, so ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need them.

Got to go out in a few mins, collect meds, and Mr LW has to get a haircut before he starts looking like a Beatle.

There was a bad accident just down the road from us this morning, heard about it on Classic FM traffic news, so glad Mr LW is w*rking from home today.

Had Shepherd Spy for lunch, as is traditional now on Mr LW's WFH days, enough left for tomorrows dins.

OK, gotta run, must put some warpaint on before going out.

    Keep safe & warm, folks.

  • Afternoon all

I haven't posted for a while, been lurking, hope you don't mind me joining in again. We had snow this morning and it has been snowing again this afternoon.

I don't like to see little girls wearing cropped tops and bikinis. Whats wrong with a T shirt and a swimming cossie?

I got a breadmaker at the weekend! Woo Hoo:T I have wanted one for ages. I made my first loaf yesterday and it tasted great. It was very soft and had to cut it into doorsteps or it wouldn't slice. Will put it on again overnight to make another loaf.

I am back at work today(working from home) so not a great deal of OS done. Put the oven on to cook my lunch so stuck a couple of jackets and quorn sausages in aswell to do for tomorrows lunch for me & OH. Will just nuke them to heat up tomorrow. DW on. Dinner tonight is pork steak for OH and something quorn for me with mash, kale and other veg. I made this last night and OH liked it so much he asked for it for dinner tonight as well!:D

We will be having lots of spuds this month as bought a 25k sack from the farm shop. I always used to buy ready made mash, oven chips, roasts etc:o but since I saw the error of my ways and started been an os'er I have been buying Aldi 39p bags of pots and making my own. They taste much nicer too.

The topic of little girls clothes, i hate to see them in hotpants and mini skirts etc, as my mom says im very old fashioned ( im 30 this year, but act and think like my mom!) and to me they would catch a chill :o I saw some Mr Men bra's on the market, no way

I had a slow cooker for christmas!!! im getting it delivered tomorrow :j:j been wanting one for ages and hubby ordered one for me :D:D so im looking forward to some lovely warm casseroles, roast lamb and scrammy dinners for the family!

I did all my housework today, christmas black bags put out, kitchen cleaned, got the washing done, dried, pump bag and swimming kit and uniform ready for the start of school tomorrow.

Bubble and squeak for tea today....leftovers from yesterdays lunch :)

Just got my car back and the mechanic didn't charge VAT and didn't charge for collecting my 'dead' car and putting it on his truck and taking it to the garage so i'm feeling very pleased that the bill was much less than it could have been. Phew! Stupid me doesn't know where to put the antifreeze in a car and apparantly that contributed to the car dying on me, well that, and the flat battery!

I'm doing a kind of OS tea for me and kids....a BOGOF ready meal with one extra nann bread in the bag that shouldn't be there...a frozen pizza (i will cook it before i serve it though LOL!) and a tin of peas....:D....being without a car meant i couldn't get to the supermarket to do a shop LOL!

Chrisca - I bought my mw steamer years and years ago in Lakeland and have cooked my rice in it ever since, 12 mins and it's brilliant, no sticky pan to wash! You can also use it to cook pasta, you just need to add more water, nice and easy as it always seems to boil over on the hob.

Pooky, I too have been wondering if a pressure cooker would be useful, am going to do a bit of research and then have a look on freecycle.

Salopman - your post did make me laugh, after reading about the ouside waste pipes and then you going out to PO - well of course I got the wrong end of the stick lol!

Cold here, did have a sprinkle of snow whilst we were out to dinner! But soon stopped, meant to be -6 tonight here though!

Lunch was lovely, went to a really nice pub recommended by a neighbour, will be going back again soon.

Not a whole lot of os this afternoon, have been playing with dd3, dancing to HSM songs - guess it was a bit os as it stopped us turning up the heating!

Off to w**k tonight, so best feed the kids and then get organised. Have a good night all xx
