    Need to take back an outfit to M&S - dd who is 4 got a hotpants outfit :eek: - just a wee bit too young for her I think !

    I am constantly amazed at what some people think is suitable attire for children (good grief I've turned into Mary Whitehouse....). My own personal "favorite" has to be a t-shirt worn by a child of about 10 with the slogan "Jail Bait" on it.......... I felt like ripping it off her and giving the parents who looked as if they should know better a stiff talking to! And I've lost count of the number of teenagers wearing "Prn Star".....
    But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
  • Morning All

    bad nights sleep for me - total idiocy as i lay awake worrying about the most ridiclulous things - stuff i have no control over and which certainly wont change my life whichever way it pans out . My new years resolution was to stop worrying about things i cant change - doesnt seem to have lasted long

    anyway woke up to a winter wonderland so first things first fed birds and watered them then did the hens. walked the dog, now having tea and toast and then i MUST make myself do that week old ironing ( its been sitting in a pile for days - i wil never get the creases out) before i allow myself to go and feed the donkey.

    OS wise its an easy and lazy day for me today
    a quick swizz around with stardrops and hoover
    soup for lunch and egg and chips for tea - still have cake and apple pie left from weekend bake session which should last a few more days

    anyway i hope youre all well and sending hugs and positive thoughts to those who need them

    Morning all,
    Bed stripped, remade and sheets in WM. BM on and DW emptied. Plan to clear some paperwork today and pay tax bill. Oh fun fun fun.

    I'm going to do a chick bacon and leek pie for dinner with broc and cauli, then tackle a mountain of ironing. I've been folding sheets and putting them under the matress, when I take them out they look like they've been ironed, I have told DH I'm saving electric, well, it's not because I hate ironing them is it? :rolleyes:

    Off to catch up and do some banking. Take care all.

    Well - haven't really achieved much this morning ! Dropped DS off at nursery - he's still going even though I don't have any work until end of the month. Unfortunately we get childcare vouchers from DH's work and we can't change them until June :mad: so still have to pay for them ! Debating whether or not to take him out and bank the vouchers but he's got little mates there !

    Anyway - dd wanted toast and had ran out of HM bread so had to nip into Mr T's for a loaf. Need to get more organised and have some made in the freezer. Managed to spend £11.45 and the loaf of bread was the only food item I bought ! Got Christmas wrapping paper down to 50p and HSM paper (with no xmas theme) down to 64p which will do for birthdays. Also bought a new washing basket £4.00 as the handle has broken on mine and dd got a HSM t shirt for £2.50 so don't feel I've really frittered the money away ! DD who is 4 asked for a magazine but I explained to her she could either have a magazine or save the money for an icecream on holiday - luckily the icecream one. I'm waiting on a subscribtion to the CBeebies magazine through my Tesco vouchers.

    Anyway - off to empty the washing machine.................and find my housekeys - had to go out the back door this morning as DH had locked me in !:rotfl:
    So little money - so much time :mad:

    DS looked out of thewindow, and went back to sleep:rotfl:

    Waiting for Boots delivery today, says it's coming between 8.00am and 19.00 Forgot I've got to go to the hospital at 3.00pm:eek: Oh well, he'll have to come back if he hasn't come by then! Did well on that, ordered £104 worth and saved £104 as it was all half-price. That's this years birthday stock done:rotfl:

    Sausage casserole tonight I think.

    (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) for Churchmouse

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all. It's a snow covered Staffordshire i woke up to this morning, and the first day back at school/college for the kids after the Christmas break, so they aren't terribly cheerful since they both detest school. My car has been in the garage (as in repair garage) since Saturday as on Friday night i put the key in the ignition and nothing happened. I called the RAC and after 2 hours someone came out, jump started the car but smoke poured out of it and the man told me the car was unsafe and could have set on fire as there is a 'short' on it somewhere.

    Sat = no spend day
    Sun = no spend day
    Mon = no spend day unless the garage phone and give me a scary repair price :D

  • Hello all

    Snow here this morning.

    Wasn't going to take the kids to schoo, as small roads are not gritted so can't drive. But took them in then end once the snow stopped. I am now regretting it as my SPD is now agony.

    I have tonnes of housework to do as well.

    Well it's all back to normal routine now eh!

    Still thinking of you Churchmouse x

    I don't have daughters but I get really annoyed when I see young girls, not yet into double figures, in shoes or boots with heels. I saw a girl only the other day who couldn't have been any older than my almost 6YO DGD, clopping around Sainsbury's in boots with quite high, noisy heels, and they were giving her a wiggle that could only come in handy if she becomes a lady of the night when she finally grows up.

    Well, we had a brief falling of snow about an hour ago, but it's fast disappearing now. Quite cold and windy, too, which makes it even colder. I wrapped up in my lovely full-length River Island coat (£7 from a charity shop), hat, gloves and the lovely scarf my Mum gave DH for Christmas! It matches my coat exactly, so I don't think he'll be getting it back. It's man-sized, too, so wraps around twice.

    I popped into Sainsbury's which was unusually quiet, bought some of their Basics milk chocolate for 27p. Hopefully, it will taste OK. I'll save it to share with DH later. If it's nice, then 27p is a great price. I called into the charity shop and bought a brand-new ribbon weaving cushion kit (£1.29), so I shall be having a go at that later. It's in lovely natural shades so will match anything.

    Anyway, off to do some chores.

    I couldn't agree more, there is a girl at toddler group who wore a shirt before Xmas saying "I am a hottie"... she is 3!
