    Morning all,

First day back at work today - which I am not looking forward to!

OH made me get some clothes ready so at least I won't be running round in a mad panic.

SO far: Coffee drunk, and erm, that's it! Will try to put the WM & TD on and unstack the DW - I have to leave at 8.15 and I'm still sat here in my PJs.

Dinner was going to be 'super soup' from leftovers but I didn't made enough and then the turkey leg stock boiled dry. :o

FrenchMaid hope your appt goes OK.

Hope everyone has a not-too-bad first normal day of '09.

  • Morning Guys!

DD already left for school and the snow is quite thick out there this morning and its bloomin cold! OH has put the gas fire on too in the lounge.

WM has done 2 loads already this morning and they have been put in the TD. DW has been on and emptied. OH got a chicken out for dinner and did a small shop (£5) yesterday at Lidls, so we have basics in.

My health hasnt been very good again, but I won't bore you with the details.

    Hope you are all fine.

  • Hello everybody :hello: SNOOOOOOOOOW :D well, a bit. To be fair it looks like somebopdy has gone out with some icing sugar but snow is snow and I ain't complaining. No cloud cover either so it looks like it will be a freezer out there. Must go and feed the outside birdies when it lightens up (although as they have 2 peanut feeders, 2 seed feeders, 1 fatball feeder and two water pots whether they need it is a moot point but I have to put the peanuts out for the squirrels and jays and the stuff for Le Robin and the blackbirds who think that our garden is their meeting place - 7 yesterday! At the same time!) Also putting the decs away today. Did all the tree etc myself and it was so stress free so I've said I'll put everything away myself (apart from getting the lights out of the trees at the front - Mr Rage can do that as I still can't put weight on my knee, although I forgot this morning in my excitement at the snow and exclaimed in a loud manner over it!). Mr Rage has gone back to work today so it will be about a week before we find out if he has a job or not. Logged on early to see if I have any work but nothing on digital yet which is not good enough as I want to get over £1,000 on one system this month and about £500 on the other - I want to try and pace myself to earn this a month so if Mr Rage loses his job then we are not worrying about money. At 8p a line I will have to work very hard but it's a manager free zone! Yesterday worked out a new budget for the year and then cheered ourselves up with Indiana Jones (Christmas present). Finally spent my work leaving gift yesterday (amazon voucher) so now excited about that :j Mr Rage has been duly despatched with his sandwiches and I will be having french onion soup with the remains of the french stick for lunch. Dinner was to be chicken breast with some morrocan sauce I found in the fridge, jackets and salad - not sure now, may revise that to jackets and veg....:D and if Mr Rage is very lucky I will make a sponge pudding as well...... Either way I'll be baking for the week - cherry cake and ginger cake - as Mr Rage has selflessly forgone his weekly scone treat as part of the radical budget makeover. If I can be bothered I may put a batch of them in as a special surprise for him! Can I just have a rant as well? Postage going up (again). This means that I will have to curtail one of my hobbies - FB swapping/penpalling as it is getting too expensive. I know I can have e-pals but it's not the same as getting a letter and sitting down with a cup of tea to read it. I am not happy  Can I also say I'm not sure about the new Dr Who either (but then I haven't seen him in anything!). I think the Dr's new companion should be Alan Carr or Bill Bailey! Well, it'd be a laugh seeing them face down the daleks! :rotfl: Anyway, I'm off to load up the DAB so I don't miss my Agatha Christie today. Hugs to all in need and wrap up warm people it's going to be a cold one!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Imagine them on the loo - crude but effective. However, do not laugh out loud - like I did once :o I also had a boss once who was really awful and then I heard him on the 'phone with his wife "yes dear, no dear" sounded like a 70s sitcom!!! :rotfl: Think of yourself as a swan and glide glide glide.....

    Good Morning All

Ravy - there will be a reason why your tyres dont last - as Hester said have they the correct amount of air - perhaps you need the tracking checked. Tyres are quite a large expense.

Fenchmaid - good luck for today.

Quite a lot of snow here and its snowing heavily at the moment - dont really like snow so hope it goes soon.

Back to work today, have loads of paperwork so will be in the office most of the day, will also find out today if have enough cashflow to pay the VAT or if I need to delay it for a couple of days! Its the first time ever we have been late so hopefully scary VAT man will be ok about it - sure theres a lot of company's very behind.

Need to do some ironing later as ended up having a very lazy day yesterday. DS is off to school but DD still at home but has lots of revision to do.

OH is making shepherds pie for dinner tonight and there is some veg left over from yesterday.

DW emptied, WM on and just about to put BM on.

Have a good day & keep warm.

Hi everyone - no snow here but a mixture of sleet and rain. It doesn't seem to be as cold, either, but then I've only been out to change the water for the birds and I was well wrapped up.

Lots of (((hugs))) for Churchmouse this morning.

I hope everyone else is well and that the first day back at school and work is not too much of a shock. Christmas is well and truly over now - we took the decorations down yesterday and the place looks really clean and tidy now. I've cut cards up for re-using next Christmas or recycling, and I must also clear up the spare bedroom where most of the wrapping up took place. It still looks like a bomb has hit it.

Dinner tonight is stewing steak from the freezer with HM onion soup, also from the freezer and veggies, so some sort of casserole, which I shall cook in the Remoska. I want to do a big food shop this Friday so I'm clearing out the freezer this week - there'll be at least one turkey dish.

Friends of ours came over yesterday afternoon - luckily, we had just finished clearing away the decorations. Had a nice chat over several cuppas.

Well, WM is on, breakfast things cleared up, bed made, bathrooms cleaned, kitchen floor swept and mini shopping list done for this morning when I pop out.

I have a new diary which I am determined to keep up to date; I always start with the best of intentions but end up throwing a barely used diary away at the end of each year. I shall keep this one on my desk so, hopefully, it will get used properly.

Anyway, lots of (((hugs))) to all those who are poorly or worried. Hope you all keep warm today.

Rage in Eden - that's dreadful. Another good old traditional British name bites the dust. You're right; it seems nothing is sacred. When the recession is finally over and we all want to spend a bit, there'll be no shops open and nothing to buy. It is very worrying.
