I ordered a HSBC Plus Visa card on Monday. I wasn't to pleased when I opened the mail today and found a standard silver one, then when I rang their customer service, they said 'Oh, well you can still use that'. 'NO I WANT A PLUS CARD, I DON'T PAY YOU £13 A MONTH TO BE SENT THE WRONG CARD THEN SUGGEST THAT I KEEP USING IT'.
5 minutes later, they've have sent me out a new visa card, hopefully Plus this time.0 -
All,
I ordered my new card this week. waiting for delievery...
just wondered if anyone knew why as someother banks do that HSCB dont, the facility to see available balance.
previously i was with Natwest and would buy something online it would show my available balance less of the purchase i just made... its not a major problem but would help manage money a little better as i have many DD etc...0 -
Click on your account and show available balance when you logged into HSBC internet banking0

For the record, Natwests online banking facility is slow and un-user friendly not to mention outdated. My girlfriend moved from Natwest merely because the online banking experience with HSBC was a lot better.0

Why don't you tell them to stop them taking your £13 quid PLUS and request to be moved to current advance or current account? I hope you are not paying £13 for the sake of having a nice looking BLACK card? You should be bold and tell HSBC it is their loss. Travel insurance - you can get that for 40 quid a year including family cover WORLD WIDE. There is no phone insurance with PLUS and other benefits tend to be a rip off as they are still quite pricey.0 -

Makes you wonder then how NatWest won that award from your money for being the best online student bank account provider.0 -

I am currently in dispute with HSBC with the "Managed Loan". I did not realise until last year, that anyone who have a managed loan is regarded as someone who has financial difficulties. I never had financial difficulties with HSBC or anyone else since I opened my account 7 years ago. A couple of months after i graduated, back in 2006 it was recommended by someone from my local branch to have a managed loan even though I have NEVER been in arrears or overdrawn to make it more practical with my overdraft and credit card outstanding balance combined in all one (£3,000) and paying a fixed sum per month. It was only last year I looked into it that i have been ripped off with high APR and interest charges!! I have written a complaint to HSBC and they are currently looking at it and get it converted to a personal loan. All this time, i had the managed loan, it affected my status within HSBC and they said i could not get other credit facilities - not even a CG card despite the fact i got an excellent credit history.
Shelfstacker or anyone else, i would appreciate it a lot if you could comment on the post about the managed loan. It is affecting my status with HSBC - from what i understand, it is designed for customers who has been in financial difficulties. I never been been in financial difficulties, and the staff at the branch today have said i shouldn't be on the managed loan if thats the case. Thanks0 -
I presume he means an accurate balance? As in NatWest updated instantly, whereas HSBC often takes a couple of days for transactions to show (in my experience at least, bit annoying as other than that HSBC online banking is superb).PARIS_5000 wrote: »Click on your account and show available balance when you logged into HSBC internet banking0 -
