Refer to page 6, post 108 on this thread, it is exactly the same! It actually look nicer in real life. Very simple but solid silver design. I believe this is for the Current advance and current account holders only. The basic account have its own different design if i am correct.0 -
Oh, thanks for that, i missed that one, i've seen the black one on the other page.0

In case it helps anyone, I applied for a HSBC account on Dec 28th, no overdraft just the current account. The other day I received my card, a visa debit with £100 cheque guarantee. It's silver and if I remember rightly (haven't got it on me at the mo) it's got the map of the world printed across it in a slightly more matte silver.
In case anyone's interested!

Did you apply over the internet? The application process over the internet takes forever! If you did, did you take ID in?0 -

Dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, but new FD Visa Debits are coming out without the cheque guarantee function as standard. However, it appears that if you need one you can call them up and they'll send a VD with a CG facility on it out for you. (I'll leave the CG function off mine for now, I've still got it on the HSBC account and I barely ever write cheques anyway)
Shelfshaker are there three types of cards then? Black, Sliver and White?0 -
Hi Sutton111, yes I applied online but didn't have to show any ID which was OK, can't really remember how long it took! I just applied, had an email saying accepted, then they sent me a thing to get my signature and it was as simple as that!Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0

Applying online is simple, quick and easy. I applied online, they sent me a form through the post to sign, I took the form into my local HSBC, they gave me my account number and sort code and a card came a few days later. All in all, it took about a week to set up/get a card.0

Hi, yes it is exactly the same design as the one shown on page 6 of this thread, post 108. I got my new visa card today but without the CG probably due the fact i have currently got a managed loan in place (even though i have not missed any payments or gone overdrawn EVER on my HSBC account!). I am currently in dispute with HSBC on "managed loan" I did not realise until last year, that anyone who have a managed loan is regarded as someone who has financial difficulties. I never had financial difficulties with HSBC or anyone else since I opened my account 7 years ago. A couple of months after i graduated, back in 2006 it was recommended by someone from my local branch to have a managed loan even though I have NEVER been in arrears or overdrawn to make it more practical with my overdraft and credit card outstanding balance combined in all one (£3,000) and paying a fixed sum per month. It was only last year I looked into it that i have been ripped off with high APR and interest charges!! I have written a complaint to HSBC and they are currently looking at it and get it converted to a personal loan. All this time, i had the managed loan, it affected my status within HSBC and they said i could not get other credit facilities - not even a CG card despite the fact i got an excellent credit history.0
