Lokolo, if you need " gadgets " and you get excited about a lump of plastic to fulfil your life, it is you that is the " boring " one around here I'm afraid.;)
I'm a geek. Doesn't make me boring
And it doesn't fullfill my life to have a cool looking debit card. It helps though mwahaha, and I'm not the only one who said they wouldn't mind a cool looking card!!!0 -

To me a card is a bit of plastic that spends 99.999% of it's life in my wallet, as long as it works, I don't give a monkeys what it looks like.
!!!!!! is " cool looking " about a chunk of plastic anyway?
Is a " cool looking " card supposed to somehow impress others?0 -

No? How on earth would it impress others? I just like to have a nice looking card in my wallet0 -

I am just trying to work out what difference the appearance of a bit of plastic makes.
I am honestly mystified why anyone would care what a card looks like.
As I said, I keep my cards in my wallet for most of the time, they are rarely visible anyway.
Oh well .. as they say...to each his / her own I guess.0 -

I got my shiny HSBC Visa today, and my slightly shinier First Direct one yesterday. Chuffed by the cards, not so chuffed with not being able to use them cos I don't have the PIN...
Dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, but new FD Visa Debits are coming out without the cheque guarantee function as standard. However, it appears that if you need one you can call them up and they'll send a VD with a CG facility on it out for you. (I'll leave the CG function off mine for now, I've still got it on the HSBC account and I barely ever write cheques anyway)

Shelfy I don't know about the new card but my FD Maestro had the color of the numbers and the words "first direct" come off. So I was left with just a black card - apparently it is a common problem with the card. I'm surprised no photos yet.0

Hello everyone! Im back after a week break!
I just opened my HSBC letter with the new VISA card today... unfortunately it seems they have sent me a standard silver card (without CG) that we saw in the earlier posts on this thread. I called them up, and they said the person who ordered the card have made a mistake and asked me if i want to have the PLUS visa card sent out. I decided instead to downgrade to current advance account and keep the silver design standard card. It looks nicer in real life than on this thread to be honest! So NO more £13 a month, as I'm with Lloyds Platinum debit card, with £250 CG function and better benefits on offer for my needs.0
