Have been hoovering, dusting, polishing, tidying etc like a thing demented.
DD(23) came home and thought her sister (very organised, houseproud etc) had run amok!! There were even flowers in vases all over the house!!!
She was stunned to realise DH and I had done it all - we had people viewing our house at three o clock!!! Fresh bread was finishing baking as they arrived.
By six o'clock it was starting to look more lived in - i.e. - messy!!!
DD goes back to Oxford tomorrow evening ready for work so have looked out some books that she will enjoy that she can take back with her.
Will be away for family funeral tomorrow so will see you all later."This site is addictive!"

            Good evening all!
Churchmouse - Have a safe journey and I hope that all goes well with the funeral, my prayers are with you and your family xx
Have done several loads of washing, all dried and put away except for last load that I've just finished folding. Stripped, washed and redone my bedding, kids will be done during the week, kids bedding that is! Made rolls for lunches, cakes and traybakes for lunches and jellies for dd3 for her lunches! Still not grated cheese or cooked ham though, next time I'll wear my superwoman cape I think! Found all the school uniforms, including blazers and ties, slightly confused as most of it was already ironed and in the right cupboard lol! PE kits are done, hope the kids all listened and know where their shoes are!
Dinner wasn't turkey pie in the end, it morphed into turkey, bacon and cheese pasta bake! Used up all sorts of ends of cheese and some bacon that was in need of immediate use, and made some space in the freezer using up some turkey! Made risotto for me using barley and split yellow peas, bit of arborio rice, large mushrooms that were in the freezer and bought for 5p and some grated courgette that was left in the freezer from the summer glut, it was delicious, barley is a great alternative to rice.
dd2 and I also made a huge chocolate cake, it's a friend's birthday tomorrow and we were at a loss as to what to get him, so thought a cake would be nice! I baked it in the moski, and I've got a grand, it's a two layered cake, so you can imagine the size! Decorated it with some Thorntons chocs, think everyone here has had enough chocolate till next Christmas!
Have cleared away all the mess in the kitchen and now just need to go and make the rolls and pop them in the fridge, think it'll be hard enough getting the troops out of their beds in the morning, never mind trying to do lunches!
Hope everyone has a good night xx
Edit: just read your post Elona, hope that the viewing went well and they put in a good offer, and I hope that it goes well tomorrow, my prayers are with you and your family also xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Hope everyone has had a lovely, if cold, Sunday (no snow here……… yet)
I mentioned the other day I had knitted some of the mug warmers, more as a fun thing than anything (going to put one in birthday gifts with a “can you guess what this is?” note). Used one today – amazingly they work!!
 .
What's a mug warmer? Is it like those lovely mugs I saw in M&S with a little blue jumper on? If so can I order/buy one? What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0  What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

I can't guarantee the answer to your question, but one of my friends got me one of these (and I LOVE your description of a *jumper*:rotfl: ) and I have to say, yes it works:D I'm notorious for throwing away cold cups of tea and coffee, this keeps them warm long enough for me to drink them;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
