    Good Evening Everyone

I actually ended up have a lovely day with the in laws, they took us for a carvery which was yum and then for dessert I had apple pie and custard, mmm!

I have cooked up a bollogneise sauce and done another load of washing but thats about all I've managed today thats a bit dissappointing really as it's only my 3rd OS day, I would have liked to have achieved a little bit more!

Hi :D Glad you had a nice day with the In Laws but you've got to stop beating yourself up for 'under achieving' on the OS front :p:p You're doing really well & 2 loads of washing & a batch of homemade bolognese is very good!! I always think that if it's more than I did last year, month, week etc then its great. Well done you :T

Lecture (in the nicest possible way) is over now :j Hope work goes well with your OH tomorrow. My dh is currently doing 12 hour shifts and we hate it, especially as he's stood outside (he's door security at a club & no he looks nothing like Grant Mitchell - I wish ;) ) Good luck going back tomorrow yourself. Think of your lovely new bedroom & the money going towards it with all your new skills :T

Oooh, will it come to Worcester? :j :j

I'm about to start lunch- leftover bulghar wheat pilaff with some form of protein added. I've got a piece of rump steak that I was going to stir-fry but it isn't really stir-fry weather so I might add that to the pilaff.

There's leftover turkey defrosting for tonight and some creme fraiche that needs using up so I think something creamy and comforting for tea -creamy turkey curry

I want to make a pudding with a jar of confiture de caramel. I have a bit of pastry in the freezer, bananas, some leftover chocolate sauce-might make little banoffee tartlets.

    Hi thiftlady,
I dont live that far out of Worcester only about 15 miles out.

Good evening everyone. Today we had soup and dumplings for lunch and soya mince pie with cabbage and gravy for tea. Also cheese on toast as a snack as we had a very late lunch. I did some baking as well, made a small loaf, some cheese scones and some more soup (using the outer leaves of a cabbage and cauliflower, some soup mix and some curry powder).

Hello everyone:hello: I've just read 4 days worth of Dailies:D My brain is addled:o

I'm back home for the next couple of days then going back down to Devon on Wednesday for the funeral on Thursday. Thank you all so much for the lovely messages of support, they really have helped to lift me when it got too much. I'm still very busy, so much to do, and all that paperwork.........*sigh* Still needs must.

Sorry I'm not sure of all the new friends' names just now, but ((hugs)) to all those with sadness in their lives. There seem to be an awful lot of bereavements at the momenticon9.gif

OS will be taking a bit of a backseat at the moment, but I did cook a nice roast beef joint today. It tasted very good which I was somewhat surprised at, seeing as how it had freezer burn from lurking in the freezer for about a year:o :rotfl: All that cleaning I've been doing of Dad's house means I'm not enthused to do my own. But I did take the Christmas tree down today, and packed all the decs away. That means I can leave the tree out for dustman collection on Wednesday. My council is very good, and will recycle the trees along with normal garden and food waste. Just taking down the decorations made the house look tidier:D

Well best get my nose back to the grindstone. Hope Benny does well today Aussie. Hugs to Tilly, Pink-winged ( hope the dribbling is clearing up) And sorry to read about Treacle, Diva. Hope you can find some help for her.

Will try to keep up with reading, even if I don't get time to post. CM xx

we're about 20 miles away and had a covering of snow at teatime but its stopped now. Been absolutely frozen all day but am now snug in front of the fire.

  • We got the shopping done we needed to this morning. After we got home I fixed some scrambled eggs on toast for our lunch.

Tea tonight was a roasted pork shoulder with gravy, jacket potato for DH, sweet potato for me, steamed sprouts and hot mini baguettes. It turned out very nice. Packaged up 2 freezer bags of leftover pork. One for sweet and sour and one for pork bbq sandwiches for later this month.

I got my square sausage made and it's sliced, wrapped and frozen now. DH is hinting he'd like some soon. :rotfl: I also made up two meatloafs and have frozen them. I got some of the disposable foil pans with the lids. I know it's not really OS but they're a good size for the 2 of us and if I'm careful, I can wash and use again. ;)

I've had a slight headache all day that just won't leave. Think I'm going to make an early night of it.

    Hugs to all :grouphug:

    hi peyton

Hello I've had a quiet day. Very tired today so slept on and off all day. Have sorted out most of the washing. Just need to find my daughter's school jumper and then she will be ready for tomorrow. Cooked a stir fry for dinner using up the vegetable sticks from yesterday. Will cook Weightwatcher's macaroni cheese tomorrow to use up some of the cheese and tomatoes.
Daughters back at nursery tomorrow so I'm hoping to finally get down to defrosting the fridge and freezer and doing an inventory.
I hope that all that are under the weather be it man or beast that they have a speedy recovery. For all those having a hard time my thoughts and prayers go out to you.

  • Hi
Very late signing in today. Went for a lovely walk in a NT garden in Esher, was cold but took flasks of coffee with us and clemintines. Were out for a couple of hours and my nose and ears froze. There is no proper heating in our front room so we all snuggled down under blankets and I fell asleep. OH made diner. Will run a bath in a couple of mins and get an early night. Have found a book to read and the hot water bottle is already warming the bed. Night all.

    Hi Eveyone,

I can't get over how cold it has been today. I went for a walk into town today with DS and it seemed so strange seeing our local Woolies closed down. End of an era. Ended up raiding the pound shops (got DS (aged 5) some number stickers, and me some long knee high strippy socks). I also treated myself our of my Xmas money and bought the Delia Smith Frugal Food Cookbook for 3 pounds (was reduced to 4.99 in Waterstones, and I had 2.00 in points on my Waterstones card) so I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes out on DH and DS.
I got home to find DH had been good enough to carpet clean the living room and the hall, stairs and landing. Looks like we have a new carpet. I'm looking forward to seeing OH's face when he sees me in my new socks (bright pink and black stripes) :D. I am also looking forward to tomorrow as I'm going to Worcester for the day with my friend and our DS's.
