    morning all!

    another cold one here!
Lots of odd jobs to do today - need to do some decluttering in the boys rooms - they have loads of clothes they never wear and all sorts of computer parts taking up valuable space - DS1 likes taking old ones to pieces:rolleyes:

I am also starting my online spending diary to keep track of my food shopping again - I have laxed badly so need to get back on track.I've kept the receipts so just need to put it in the diary.

Spent a bit at M & S yesterday with my gift card - 2 tops and a bra. I also bought a pair of shoes from Brantano that I've had my eye on for ages and they were reduced from £50 to £35.

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs or wants one.

take care and have a lovely day xx

  • Feeling rather smug - made doughnut dough in the BM and made doughnuts and they are blooming delicious. Does anyone know if you could give them a short whizz in the microwave to warm them up???

    Morning :hello:

Brrrrrrrrrr it's cold here, -6 degrees.

The BM is making dough, we need bread and rolls. The gammon is going in the oven in a mo, should only take 5 and a half hours  :D

I want to make leek and potato soup but mr tru won't let me. He said "you make everything else, it's not fair, I'M the soup person from now on" :D

The whites are soaking, there's a bit of ironing to do and I need to clean out the rabbit and one guinea pig hutch.

I suppose I'd better go and get dressed :D

Morning Chums ,another chilly one this morning .Just had an email from a pal in Adelaide and he says its a pleasant 31c lucky devil.
Got to get my Uni stuff out today as I am back there a week Monday, and I haven't done a thing.Hopefully this week I can get a 1000 words on the rise of the domestic servant in Victorian times knocked out. Must go to the Library tomorrow ,as long as it doesn't snow.
Some ironing to do this morning and lunch will be something light I think some scrambled eggs on toast.
Dinner as usual will be at my DD's,I go there about 4.00.p.m. and help the little ones get their homework sorted out for tomorrow, they are back to school. The eldest is on study leave for a couple of weeks as she has her GCSE's due this year, the next one down Ben ,13 gets on with his own thank goodness as its far too complicated for me to help with.
But Jack 8, and Hnery 7 have spellings, and some written work to do so thats o.k. Mikey the youngest is going full-time tomorrow ,bless him he won't be five until June and he seems so little to be at school all the time, but he does love going. My DD will be lost this week, as she hasn't any work until the 23rd of this month .One of her jobs closes down for two months over the winter period as she is a tour guide at a local tourist spot so that job doesnt start back up until 14th February, and her other job at the estate agents because of the present climate, she is on short-time.Still we will crack on with some painting I think, she wants to start at the top of her house and work down She lives in a town house so its on three floors.
I love Christmas ,but it is nice to get back into a routine again. I have my sis-in-law coming next week-end for a couple of days and I'm looking forward to that, well I suppose I'd better get a wriggle on.
<< hugs to those feeling poorly or sad>>, and welcome to all the 'newbies' who have joined us .You will soon be chatting away like the rest of us .
By the way has anyone got a really easy carrot and corriander soup recipe. My neighbour gave me a big bag of MrT's finest that she didn't use up as she knows I will always find a use for things. I have lots of frozen carrots already in my freezer and fancied something different.I did have a recipe on my computer but I'm blowed if I can find the blessed thing now .I don't really want to go to the shops to buy fresh corriander but I do have some dried corriander powder that I could use up I suppose . nothing too exotic just something I can chuck in my SC would help

    Good morning all!

Welcome undercoverangel and all the other new people, lovely to see so many people posting! Never mind the kids needing pooters for their GCSE work, they need them so that I have a chance to catch up on here!

Diva - glad that Tristan is having a good time with his rellies, must be a good tonic for him. Sorry to hear about Treacle fitting again, hope you find a cause and solution quickly.

Well very cold and chilly here, kids dad is staying and has turned the heating up AGAIN, I keep turning it back down! Well I'm the one paying the flippin bill! Told him to stop wandering around in shorts and t-shirts then he won't feel anywhere near so cold!

OS wise I shall be getting all the stuff ready for packed lunches for the kids next week, so cheese to be grated, ham to be cooked and sliced, muffins and traybakes to do, rolls to go in BM and moski, plus need to make jellies for dd3 (fab mini lakeland containers are great for these) and find little pots for raisins, where do all the pots vanish to over the hols?! Sounds like a lot but sort of second nature on a Sunday now!

Also need to sort out uniforms, games and PE kits and shoes - well the kids do, I shall just wash, iron and inspect!

Other than that I'm not sure what I'm doing, will need to sort out a meal plan for the week, no idea about lunch today, might well be a pie with some leftover turkey! Supper will be bacon and eggs rolls as usual for Sundays - I find that the kids lie in now so miss out on breakfast usually, and after a roast they are peckish by the evening but not really hungry IYSWIM!

Off for a catch up now. Have a good day one and all and hugs where needed xx

  • Hi everyone,

I'm new here- I've malingered for years and even made the odd post or two.

Today's a weird day, OH has went off on his bike for the day in the huff. Our DD was up through the night with leg cramps so none of us have had much sleep.

I am taking the opportunity to get going with this.

Today, I've summarised all debt, a SOA and a plan!

I'm going to do a stock check of the cupboards and get a menu planned for the week
    Get an ebay pile ready.

    That's about it.

And, yes, it's really cold here in Scotland...
