    Good Morning All

MSD - sorry to hear about Treacle hope you get it sorted.

Very frosty and cold here again today. Am going to have a relaxing bath in a minute then get on with the ironing. Got what I thought was beef out of the freezer for today but now think it is pork.

Might pop out to the farm shop to get some more veg as only have peas and carrots.

BM just about to finish and need to load the wm.

Thats about it for today - have a good one.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I would like to say hello to all the new faces. People are very kind here, so you can say anything, and I frequently do. They are so lovely. Even if you are aspirational OS, as myself, and I have less OS days than I would like, they still make you so welcome and are so lovely.

Evil cat is being more than usually evil, little bear has been more than usually active and dear heart is, well, absolutely gorgeous in the tshirt he was wearing today but I don't know whether I am on my head or my heels.

As this is late I will cut and post this tomorrow so it will do duty for two days, like left overs. If you are reading this tomorrow, I wrote it last night.

I visited town today. I just needed to get out of the house, but to be perfectly honest, the only thing I wanted to buy was a bunch of bananas for little bear. Of course I spent more, but less, I think, than I would have otherwise done. I bought some tops for little bear half price in the sale - 6 for £11! I am very happy with that and they were from Boots so should wear well. Also I got some honey and ginger tea for dear heart who is suffering from his throat. I did find myself wondering about what I actually needed. :o As little bear is getting extremely keen on using crayons I also invested in some art materials from the Early Learning Centre, as I had not seen them reasonably priced elsewhere. I am going to excavate in the junk room and see if I can find some old rolls of wallpaper for him to use for scribbling on. That is OS.

My darling uncle rang back this morning - the washing up liquid had frozen in its bottle. He is not very elderly, he is in his sixties, but he is not a well man, he is diabetic and partially sighted. I do worry about him. He has to boil a kettle to wash up in the morning as the hot water tank is heated only by the coal fire, which he doesn't always light (silly man!). Also he is sitting under blankets etc. He is uber OS, but his house is not very well tended. I live so far away from him and cannot drive. Dear heart will not allow little bear in the bungalow, just in the garden.

Little bear is in big boys bed again tonight - I wonder where I will find him. If it is like last night I will find him in his bed.

    Hugs to all

Morning everyone :j Didn't get on the computer at all yesterday as kids were on a roll with Bebo etc  So I'm making an earlier start than them today LOL!

DH is working 10am till 10pm from yesterday for 6 days so have done his lunch/evening meal in sandwich form as well as 3 flasks of coffee, hot choc & tea and fruit, malt loaf, biscuits etc to keep him going. I'll make some soup later for his flask tomorrow. He's outside so needs all the warmth he can get  Lunch for myself & kids will be soup & filled pittas that need using up. Dinner tonight is braising steak, which I've got going in the SC, with veg & roast pots that I froze on christmas day & last sunday so not much effort thankfully! Ironing, shoe polishing, reading bag sorting, pe kit finding today ready for tomorrow.

I'm at MIL's from 10am tomorrow as someone from the Dept of Work & Pensions is coming to see her regarding what she's entitled to since FIL died in December. My SIL works full time and my DH is obviously working so it's down to me. I don't mind, I love her, and will use the time there to catch up on some cleaning for her.

That's it really for me so far. Hugs to all that need them & I'll try and get back on later to see how everyone's doing.

  • Morning everyone

    Another chilly morning brrrrr

Washed DD's winter coats yesterday, and handwashed her hat, need to dig out her ear muffs, gloves and clean her shoes today and she'll be ready to go back to school on Tuesday. She has to go dressed as a 1940's evacuee for the first 2 days - that will be challenging

Ironing and washing today - infact if I get the ironing board out now I can choose what to put on the tv (because DD and DH are still in bed ;) ).

Dinner tonight will be a gammon joint, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and peas.

Lunch will be scrambled eggs on toast.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Morning, all, and welcome to all the newbies :)

Had a surprisingly good night's sleep in spite of this lingering cold, and now DH2B looks to be coming down with it, bless him. I do feel for him, as I think I gave it to him. I did make him laugh last night though. He doesn't really suffer with "man flu" and as I do tend to make a bit more of a cold than he does, I called it "bird flu" (as I'm his bird :D ). He did laugh at that. :)

Lunch at the soon-to-be MIL's today, and if we fancy anything for tea (unlikely) I'll just fix some sandwiches or do beans on toast. I quite fancy that, actually, with bits of crispy bacon on top ... mmm.

Back to work tomorrow, and I'll pop by Mr M's in my lunch hour and stock up on their cheapy cheapy cheap-cheap chicken noodles as they make quick lunches for me. Hopefully all the food we brought in before Christmas will have been eaten so I can start to shift a few of these Christmassy lbs!

(((hugs to everyone))) Hope you have a good day.

  • Good morning everyone. Another cold day here. DH has just come back in from taking the furbaby for her walk and they are both settled back in his chair.

Going to catch the bus to Mr. S's this morning as I forgot minced pork from my monthly shop. It's on special this week there. DH is happy as I'll make square sausage today after we get home.

Will probably have a wee browse around town while we're there. I don't see me buying much yet it's still nice to window shop.

Tea today is a pork shoulder joint, baked sweet potatoes, mash and veg. We'll have something easy for brunch when we get back from the shopping. Maybe scrambled egg on toast.

I'm going to get some fresh yeast while I'm out and will give breadmaking one more try. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Yeast and I do not have a good working relationship. :rotfl:

    Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Hugs to all who want them.

    Peyton xx

    Morning everyone,

DD left today. She's back at work tomorrow. This afternoon after I whipper snipped the yard I finished Agatha Christie game. :D Just started Azada before. :o Been a bit cooler today. Rain tomorrow is forecast. I have to meet the vet tomorrow at 6.15am. She's picking up Benny in her boat. Got a dog carry thing from John who lives behind us. Bathed him (Benny that is:D ) so he's already to go. :(

Plans for tomorrow is deep clean the house. Has only had a lick & promise over the last two weeks. Want to sort out the linen cupboard too. My single summer sheets have gone AWOL.:D I've also got to work out how to so a few things on this computer. The mouse is odd. I can't even copy & paste. :D I'm definately not techy.

 to all the new posters.
Diva Hope you find something that will help Treacle & to Pink's Tilly I hope is recovering well.

<Hugs> to those not well or down. Enjoy your Sunday. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Cannot believe how cold and white it is outside this morning. Had to go out and feed birds and give them freshwater as well as break the hens water for them all before I even had a cup of tea this morning. Well I didnt HAVE to but I felt obliged : )

Hvae hoovered living room and wiped around the kitchen now I have half an hour to catch up on here and enjoy another cup of tea before I head out to 'countrywide' to get donkey food.

SHOULD be doing that ironing thats been waiting for me to attack it for three days but I think I can put that off till later this afternoon ( if not tomorrow hahaha)

Chicken and veg are in slow cooker, apple pie was made yesterday using the recipe of fame on here 'best ever mince pie pastry' YUMMM is all I can say

Also today I need to find a source of inexpensive or free OS maps of local areas... any suggestions?

Well Enjoy your day ladies and stay warm!

    Morning folks
Hoping everyone is feeling ok today and those with colds, flu and feeling unwell are on the mend. ((((hugs)))) to those feeling sad and down.
Not so cold here. Might tackle another load of washing and try hanging it out.
Plans for the day are to change our bedding, make up DD's bed for her visit on Wed:j (I washed it yesterday but didn't get round to putting the fresh linen on), walk doggies, make soup with YS free range chicken legs (already started this :p), go out for papers and sit in cafe with DH and a nice coffee and have a flick through them. Not a busy day planned then!
I didn't sleep well last night. Strange dreams and then woke up not knowing where I was and what was happening . Knew that something was wrong but vague fuzzy thoughts until my brain switched into wake mode and I realised I was sleeping on my arm and my hand had gone to sleep. A few shakes sorted me out. I think I am unsettled with going back to work. I teach at college and we have some ahem *challenging behaviour* issues. This year's intake has included some lively lads and far lower English/maths ability for the stated grades that we have ever had. We were all looking forward to the Christmas break, to put it mildly. Ah well.
I ate an out of date Mr K mince pie yesterday. I bought them pretty well before Christmas, when they were on offer. DD looked at the sell by at Christmas and said 'Do you realise these are best before 1st Dec?'. Goodness she's turning into me and I'm turning into my mum! I remember telling her that her mustard was 5 years out of date:D. Anyway, the mince pie was a bit chewy in the middle. No ill effects so no doubt I'll have another one today.
Best wishes to all poorly pets. They are so dear to us, aren't they?
Off for a browse then I'll go and poke DH - doesn't he realise he has jobs to do?;)
