Hi all,
£1 paid to HSBC CC today.
Fag Ash Lil - we are going to london at the end of january for a long weekend, just the two of us, really looking forward to it :j and am determined we are not going to spend a fortune while we're there.
Definatly looking on thr bright side that at least OH hasnt lost his job altogether, and now that i am working part time as well at least that makes up for the loss in wages.
(see look at me still keeping up the whole positive attitude business!!!:rotfl: )Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hi Fag Ash Lil :hello:
Thanks for the warning about being on a DMP, but although I am on a DMP, I'm kind of not. I still make all my payments via Payplan as I'm lazy, but I'm no longer under any repayment agreements with my creditors, so can pay any amounts I like to them, provided that the minimum payment is made, of course.
That's the reason I want to stop my DMP as the amounts I am paying are way over the minimum payment amounts, so would like to start snowballing as the interest rates on one card in particular is so high, I could really target it and save myself some good money on interest.
I've been saying I will stop my DMP for the last 6 months, I just haven't got round to it yet. Hopefully this will be the month I do it ![STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
evening all! special hellos to the new members i've spotted (hope i've got you all today!) - LoLo, flyingscottie81, & miss marple. have fun
,
, and i'm sure we'll see loads of you...
thanks for the kind words, terri. my dad and sister are both in the country now (well, technically, my dad is in walesbut you know what i mean!). i'll catch up with them both on tuesday. "normal" day here for us tomorrow, DS1 in school, OH properly working (has only done bits for the last week or so) so can't go down to them any earlier...
i think flying fresian may have mentioned audible.com on this thread, although it was her nod to them on the diary thread that pointed me in that direction. anyway, for 2 free audiobooks(not quite the right pic!) if you go through quidco you get some money "back" too
. i downloaded two HUGE maeve binchy books (about 50 hours in total
) for free.
also, try emusic.com/ilab for (apparently) 35 free songsand 1 audiobook. i haven't tried it yet, but there was a leaflet for it in with my new little ipod speaker thing.
sadly not a no spend day. *technically* it was OH who spent it, but only because i didn't have any cashso i'm going to count it as my spend.
total PAD today 1.04 to savings
xx ttbMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

Evening everyone. Well it's been a busy day trying to prepare for back to work tomorrow. Have made soup and bread to take for lunch for this week so that I don't spend anything at work (part of my 100 day challenge) plus done a heap of washing and some housework. I'm knacked now though so maybe a glass of wine, bath and bed after I've listed one item on ebay (yet another challenge).
Paid £2.40 into the pot today.
Have a nice evening everyone.

I have twice typed a long reply to your London trip with lots of suggestion and each time I've wrecked it by excitedly checking a link was still working.
So my suggestion is to check out www.visitlondon.co.uk, www.londonnet.co.uk and www.timeout.com/london for lots of free ideas that you can do in the city. Also check out all the 2for1 deals for eating on MSE and www.handbag.com as well as www.tfl.gov.uk for getting around.
For my money (or rather lack of) I would suggest checking out the markets such as Portobello (antiques/bric a brac/cool shops) and Borough (foodie) on a Saturday or Commercial Road and Brick Lane on Sundays. They take you into parts of the city that you might not otherwise see and you'll have a lovely time hopefully 'just browsing'.
You might still get a cheaper ice skate at Somerset House - very glam. Many of the museums are free including the V&A, Science Museume, bits of Tate Modern and Tate Britain, the National Portrait Gallery and the British Museum. Oh and the South Bank is a lovely walk in the evening from Southwalk passed the London Eye along to practically Big Ben and there are sometimes free concerts inside the National Theatre or the Royal Festival Hall.
I hope you have a fab time. I went with a friend for pre-Christmas shopping and we did lots of this stuff as well as walking our feet off and such a fun time - I hope you will too.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Oh yes and FAL's knightsbridge Cafe Rouge suggestion is literally behind Harrods!

Had lovely day with DS and family yesterday (walk on beach with grandchildren - yes it was freezing cold). Invited dear old dad round for dinner but his car got vandalised while he was visiting me. Cost to repair window £200 but putting it through insurance £70 excess (cheaper option). Only just calming down after my car was vandalised last month and cost me £100 to fix. So much for me scrimping and scraping to save pennies.

Oooh, that's awful, the same thing happened to us last year but on the way home from France - we had to drive home with two windows missing at the back!! It was very drafty and it rained too!! I know how you must be feeling, I still feel angry when I think back. Hope your Dad is ok.

Hiya
I'm making tomorrow's payment early because I bought something online today and it was £20 cheaper online than we'd seen it in the shop for. So, the £20 is going to be tomorrow's payment a day (I think that makes sense!!) xx0
