Hello - I've only just discovered this thread - I kept seeing the title of it throughout last year & thought - well, I can't afford to make a payment a day. However, now that I've actually come into the thread and read it - it is such a brilliant idea & I am sold on it already !
I have set some of my creditors up as payees via my internet banking. I am currently on a DMP, so I only normally pay payplan. This has actually got me moving as I wanted to end my DMP with Payplan and do it myself as I have been on it nearly 4 years and all creditors have started charging interest again and I am paying well over the minimum payments for all of them, so would like to snowball, but being a little lazy, I thought it would take too long to set up the creditors as payees. I've still got a couple to go, but it didn't take long at all !
I've made my first PAD - I paid £1 to Goldfish. I would never have thought of doing this - yet it is so simple and yet effective. My spreadsheet of my DFD is going to really show a difference after a few PADs.
I also sold something on ebay for £15 (net of fees, postage etc), so have transferred this into my internet savings account.
So my total PAD is £16.00
(I can't believe how excited this has made me - I was going to make a payment to Barclaycard as well, but then realised that if I got too excited I wouldn't have any money left for payments through the rest of January)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
Hie everybody, 44p from me today!
It doesn't seem a lot but every month when I pay the minimum £20 to my cc I have been able to add about £15 on top, all thanks to payment a day. In four more years I won't have any debts..................it seems like forever:o
Happy New Year :beer:KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -

Have you told Payplan what you are doing re paying creditors some extra. From what I've read on here, I think you meant to treat each creditor the same and give them the correct proportions percentagewise if you pay extra. It can haver the potential to affect your DMP arrangement if you go it alone and treat any creditor with preference (e.g. the one that is charging the highest interest).0 -
Afternoon all. A lazy start to the day for our household. Last day of the holidays!
Pauldebtbegone - Thanks for the advice re; Virgin and MBNA. Hadn't realised that they are the same company so will do a bit of shuffling and move Barclaycard to Virgin and then the MBNA balance to Barclaycard on LOB. It's so hard to know which cards are managed by who!!
Played cards with my family last night and won £6 so that's my PAD for today. Was a very late night hence a very nice lie in today.
A NSD for me today! Hope everyone else is enjoying the last remaining hours of the hols (if you haven't gone back to work yet).
Lewby xx
