Summer holidays - will you be having one?

Definitely having a holiday - even if it's just camping, as that costs hardly more than being at home (maybe less, if we eat our way through some of the tins I've stored.....).
Hopefully visiting inlaws in Spain again, though haven't booked the flights yet, as missed easyjet's release of flights; shall wait for a sale, and hope the low pound puts offf other holidaymakers.
Once we're there, it's a free holiday.

Oh well, good luck to you.
I'm seriously considering becoming an Army reservist to bring some cash in.
I did that for 4 years and would heartily recommend it!
You get paid, lots of free food on weekends, make loads of friends, learn skills too.
Just do it!
We'll probably go to Wales for our hols so nothing's changed there, due to having 2 dogs. But I reckon it's cheaper to go abroad.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

You'd probably get an exotic holiday to boot.
It's a bit different to how things work in the UK. They can't compel you to serve if you're a reservist (unless they introduce conscription in which case they compel a lot of other people besides).
I'd be a financial officer so would go over the books basically. I'd have to do basic training (marching and all that stuff) but I'd outrank the training guys so it would be, "You look like a slob, Sah!". They'd teach me to shoot properly which I'd like and the only thing my CV is missing is man management and they'd teach me that too.
If I elected to go to war (Solomon Islands, Iraq and Afganistan are the 3 countries where the Aussie army is active) then I'd be paid pretty handsomely and still would be a finance officer.
I wouldn't go in as someone sending men to their deaths. I couldn't do that although I respect those that can.0 -

Hi all,
Sorry this is here, I tried to start a new thread but couldn't find where to click on.
My sister and I hope to go to Italy later in the year. We'd like to see a few places and do a bit of a tour, but are restricted to public transport. And don't speak Italian. has anyone any advice, please? Has anyone been on an organised tour? They seem a good idea in that once you've paid you can manage your money better, and all you have to do is make it to the coach each morning etc. But they are dear.
Thanks0 -
Hi axlmouth, welcome to MSE. You'll probably get a better response if you post on the holidays board here:Hi all,

Just Come Back Off My Ninth Holiday This Year...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
