    Already booked ours.

5* all inclusive in July......mind you, by the time it comes around, I think anywhere would be better than here. It's just depressing.

What's depressing, this board or this country? Or both?

With the wife due in March, I do plan to wisk here away somewhere nice in the summers that is baby friendly and she can get a bit of pampering and relaxation.

Probably will be choosing somewhere relatively local that we can drive to.

She quite likes here which is only a 3 hour drive

Have you got a new wife due in March ?? Is it one of those Thai brides out of a catalogue. :rotfl:
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

This is one of our family priorities - we would seriously rather spend all winter wrapped in blankets with the heating off, than forego our summer sunshine holiday! We've always put holidays high up on our list of annual things to do, for the pure pleasure we get out of spending the time together, relaxed, in the sunshine, no hassles! Bliss.

Don't know where we're going yet - but wherever it is, we'll enjoy it - together.
  • another staycation i think...............

  • Having to hold back on booking in case I end up not being able to afford it. Really annoying as I don't travel every year (rather reduce the mortgage - such an exciting life).

We're (hopefully) going to the Maldives in Feb.

There isn't an option in the poll for "never usually take holidays but are this year".

We've been to Cornwall recently but I could count the number of holidays I've had over the past fifteen years on the fingers of one hand.
OMG, We had a belated honeymoon to Maldives 17 yrs back...it wasn't expensive then either; £600 for couple for 2 weeks all in. It was our first ever holiday.

We went a 2nd time 12 yrs ago. Heaven.

I think we've had about 11 hoilidays (incl mini breaks) in 22 years....that includes roughing it on Newquay in some overpriced fleapit a couple of times.

    Enjoy....
  • Business as usual for us, im self employed, married 2 children.Off to the lake district in May,hopefully a week away in August, usually rent a holiday cottage......Like to give my hard earned cash to U.K ....

QUESTION: Why do holiday costs double during school holidays????:confused::confused:

Been told if we take our kids out of school term time we could get fined £100-00 despite having 98% attendance during the year..Holiday cottage rent goes up during school hols by 65% ...think the fine would be well worth it.........HO-HUM !!!

My best holiday was a real splash out (for us anyway) when we took the children to Disneyland Paris for 4 days - we travelled first class and stayed in the Disneyland Hotel, dined in the finest restaurants they had to offer etc.

It was bliss and catered perfectly for my snobby character and expensive taste.

Edit - Ooppps think it is best to mention that this holiday was when I was married and we were both working before anyone thinks this was done on benefits.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Capitalism. Supply and demand innit. Also so DINKYs like me can feel smug.
