No money here yet either but I paid in on 13/2 and 13/3 (unlucky? - I hope not!) so in fairness don't expect it for a couple more weeks. Never lodged a complaint but process seemed fairly seamless (took a few weeks for the forms to be posted out, but didn't need to go into the branch to verify ID). Will leave it a couple of weeks and then call the 0500 number if nothing by then!

Still checking self's & wife's accounts. Still no century in either. Will have to await next paper statements from Barclays to see when £1k.s were credited before looking for that 0500 complaints phone no. after 28 days elapsed....

should be able to see online - select 'detailed search' on the left menu, underneath 'see statements'

Got my £100 yesterday, simply paid some money in 20/2 and 23/3.

    Thank you Barclays and goodbye!

I think something strange is going on with my account.

Paid in £1000 on the 02/02 and on the 03/03. Not £100 yet, but now the £1000 paid in on the 02/02 isn't showing when I look at my account online, but it was yesterday. :/

Think I might need to phone them...

Hmm - I don't quite understand that - you put your amounts in a week after me yet got the money earlier . Did you (a) receive the £100 reminder e-mail that some folks got or (b) lodge a complaint?

    Cheers

I paid my money in on 19th January and 17th February - no sign yet of my £100. I've called the 0500 number and it's agreed I'm entitled but I've been told different things each time. 28 working days. by the first week of April. it's calculated from the third month of the opening of the account.... all different. Hm.

Both of our accounts are the same. The initial 1k deposits are no longer shown.

However, the website does say only a limited number of transactions are 'kept' online, so my anticipation is that this is why you can no longer see them.

In my case I have paper statements, and also you can see the £1k being transferred out online, leaving the balance positive, therefore proving that there must have been more than 1k in there.

I've run into a snag, despite applying for the account on the 18th before the offer expired, despite paying in 2 subsequent deposits of 1000 on 13/02 and 13/03, despite sending 2 contact mails asking if I was still entitled to the offer I received this letter from them today:

Thank you for your e-mail enquiring about the £100 offer for opening a Barclays Bank account.

Unfortunately, this offer was withdrawn at 12.30pm on Thursday 19 January. This offer was very popular, and the conditions of this offer did state that it could be withdrawn at any time. I am sorry that you were not advised accordingly.

    I apologise for any misunderstanding.

Sounds like a massive attempt at getting out of it if you ask me!! so I called the 0500 number this morning and got through after being on hold for about 20mins! The guy was a bit useless and asked if it said why I did not get the offer - I said nope. He said could I prove that I applied before the 19th Jan!? I said can you prove that I didn't!? Cheeky blighter! No way to talk to a new customer if you ask me!!

So a complaints procedure has been initiated so we'll see.... Bit annoying really. I've also written a letter to their customer relations department and copied it to their CEO of retail. We'll see what happens. Anything else I could try?
