For those who succeeded/will succeed: I have started an anonymous poll in a new thread (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=146168) to get some feel for what cash-debit etc card people get with the account.

I got an Electron - which would render the account pretty useless if I wanted to use it as my primary current account. Just wondering whether everybody gets an Electron or whether they also give out decent VISA Debit cards.

I got a connect Visa,but I believe Easyjet etc do not charge when booking with an electron?

same dates as me. however, when I went into show ID, the chap I spoke to said I wasnt eligible because the system said I applied on Jan 25th. Which is a nonsense as I received the "delay" email on the 23rd. faxed copy of email + letter to barclays requesting the offer is honoured as I applied on 18th. chap was referring to a 2 page internal memo on the whole thing.

I said I didn't want a card as I don't plan on keeping this account open any longer than I have to and they haven't issued me with one. As soon as the £100 is credited i'm GONE !!!!!!!!
Unless the New Regular saver I've been reading about actually comes to fruition, then I may reconsider.

1 have news from the bunker. Went into Barclays today with two forms of ID. Personal banker did all the necessary and opened the account for me, into which I deposited £1,000. He assured me that my application will still count as online. I am to receive a Connect debit card and cheque book. He also mentioned the new high interest savings account. I shall now deposit another £1000 next month and expect my £100. I will report back along with the rest of us, no doubt!

Dont know if i am one of the first to get my second payment in, but made it today, thats one at the end of Jan, and today was my Feb one.

28 days from now will tell what is to be.

Did have a funny email though, in that i asked for some confirmation from them that the £100 would be credited and they said 'sorry that offer is no longer in use'. I havent bothered following up as i believe it is a case of someone not reading my email correctly and misunderstanding what i was asking.

I will rely on the letter i have that thanks me for my application online dated 17/1/06.

Have just received and returned form for opening the account, after amending error. Did not have to take any ID to branch. So now waiting for account details, etc. so can deposit first £1K.

Will be interested to see how Barclays deals with dazzatheman depositing two separate £1K within a few days - will they consider this "per month for the first 2 months"? Should do as it is a "straightforward current account" but I would have thought might be more sensible to deposit the money about 4 weeks apart.

New to this site. Can someone tell me how I get "Thanks" - seem to only have "Edit".
