Your complaint, which was received on 21st April 2006 has now been forwarded to a Customer Relations Manager who will respond to you within the next five bank working days. Please note that for security reasons they will respond to you in writing rather than email.
We want to reassure you that we are dealing with your complaint as quickly as possible and will investigate all aspects fully.

I've received two similar e-mail replies to separate complaints about their late payment of the £100 and being lied to about when the payment would be made.
I think that Barclays are using a different calender from the rest of us as their "within 5 bank working days" has been 10 bank working days so far and no reply from them. So don't hold your breath.
Another complaint now imminent about their lack of response to my previous complaints.
Also sent a complaint letter to their customer care?? department at the same time as the e-mails - they've not extended the courtesy of a reply to that either!0 -
mentat wrote:Hi all, I have a question regarding Barclays statements, I've met the requirements, but they way they produce their statements makes it look like I haven't...
First Statement:
6th feb £1000+
over a week later... £1000-
7th March £1001+
Second statement:
over a week after 7th March £1001-
current amount £1.04
So, before I call them up, have I met the terms or not?
Thanks guys.
Looking at this I would say no, but then again they have mucked up my statements, so I think you should also complain.
The key date is the date you open your account as this is day of the month that the statements should be produced. Did you open the account on the 6th Feb and pay in £1000 the same day? I would have thought the opening date would have been before the 6th Feb so your second statement should have included the payment on the 7th March.0 -
mbailey wrote:Just phoned Barclays and something has gone wrong with my account!!
The total turn over for my account shows as £2000 which is correct, but the statements only show £1000 going into the account on 3/3/06. This is also the same when I look at my online statement - If I select a statement window of January to April, it only shows the payment in March and nothing in February!!!
The operator said he has never seen this before!
The money definately went in and out in February (and stayed for a couple of days) as I can prove this on my Natwest current account that I transfered it from.
Any one else had this?
i have had exactly the same, on the blower to them now
tracked back my paper statements and these show the deposits even though the online banking system didn't
helpful lady at barclays also tracked them down.
She had me on hold for a while whilst she rang the dept handling the £100 claims, she said there was a bit of a backlog there !!! she said her colleague had put me to the top of the pile and the payment should be in on monday if I qualify...
so heres to monday...0 -

I had a surprise this morning. Opened my post the find a statement from Barclays, including £100 more than I expected. It seems even though I missed the second £1000 deposit by 2 days they have decided to give me the £100 regardless. Since I knew I had just missed the T&Cs I had decided not to chase them! Mad.0

I finally got paid this afternoon 44 days after second £1000 deposit
Complained twice by phone, firstly after 28 days then again this morning.
Is it just coincidence that I got paid today after complaining? I think not.A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.0 -
I got my £100 today as well - I am so chuffed, especally as OH got his three weeks ago (and he opened his account after me).
Many, many thanks to everyone - since discovering this site in January, I've saved a small fortune :j0
