Amex Nectar: What to do if you didnt get 6000 points!

We are now well past (what was) the end of next week, and I have just viewed my latest statement on line. The extra 5000 points (I was only given 1000) are not there.
I have just phoned (using the freephone number (0800 5873 724) and after a lengthy delay, got through to a Nectar points specialist. Was immediately promised that the missing points will be applied staright away and will appear on my next statment (March)0 -
Exactly the same thing has just happened to me. I checked my account and i had no points whatsoever so i called them on the free phone number and they said they would put them stright into my account and that i would see them on my next statement!Nice to save.0

Delay wasn't lengthy with me - polite young lady at the other end too. Same story - apologies and points will be applied manually to appear on the next statement.0 -
I'm on my second statement now and still haven't got the full 6000 points. 2000 up to now. :mad:0

Yes, same here. 1,000 on statement 1; another 1,000 on statement 2 and the promise of the last 4,000 on next month's.-db-0

I think I can cast a little more light on this affair. Just finished a conversation with a girl on Amex's Nectar team. I have taken what she said as genuine but of course she was only a girl on the Nectar team and not a top honcho.
Apparently the original offer was made to people applying via a link or e-mail connected with another website with a similar name to ours (don't want to get in lumber mentioning a rival by name!).
Martin picked up on this, advertised it widely and we all followed his suggestion to apply via a link on MSE. But this apparently was a misunderstanding and we were not, strictly speaking, entitled to the full 6000 points.
However as a PR gesture and in view of the furore so created, Amex decided to honour the 6000 points offer to MSE applicants as well. Which I think is very good of them. So instead of slagging them off, perhaps we should be saying thank you! However this info should really have come out earlier, which would have taken the heat out of it a bit.
The young lady mentioned the backlog but said their target was to have everybody satisfied by the end of this week. So check on Monday and - hopefully - it should be OK.0 -
I rang some time ago and was told my account had a number on it that meant I had not gone through the correct site to get 6000 - only 2000 which I have. The man then said they had had technical difficulties and would review my case and would ring back if a problem. I have permanent ansaphone and no message as yet but no points either! I will keep pursuing as some people have been successful. Thanks for freephone number - will try that.0

If anyone else, like me is/was hanging back on phoning them
I think it would be a good idea to give them a nudge asap.
I have been told the extra points (got 2000 still 4000 short)
will be manually added when the lady I spoke to tells the correct department
it will be a month behind but no great rush,
told to check my nectar in a couple of weeks, if not their then,
give them another ring
