Wow, and what a nice person you have just shown yourself to be.... Clap clap.. clap.. smart responce. Poison and kill a living creature... wow... Let Karma shine on you.
What a great parent you would be:rolleyes:
Yeah IF the dog was a real threat to me child, I would have no issues with it.
I think you will find most parents would kill the neighbours large dog if it was attempting to savage their baby.0 -
Hey Mummyme, question...What are you doing with the means to "shoot" the dog...what with? Guns are even MORE dangerous then "big" dogs. If you have a gun I would rather meet the dog then yourself. If you do "shoot" the dog you will be liable to criminal prosecution... and why do you let your child sit there looking at this "Snarling" dog . would it not be smarter to take her in a different room. Sorry to make you out to be the baddy here, but you realy aint helping yourself.0

im still here - somewhere! its just took me an hour to read through all the posts and a lot of arguing!
I want to put a few things on this post that have already been said but thats because theres new people joining in and they havent read the full post.
Firstly the dog is a rottie x alsatian - frankly i couldnt give a flying (AHEM) what breed it is, it is scaring my LO so much that she is screaming when she gets near home and saying "bad dog" The only reason it concerns me that it is a rottie x alsatian is because if it grabs her, i CAN NOT pick it up or kick it away easily. If it was a jack russell or small dog i would pick it up, lob it as far as i can, grab DD and leg it. But saying that - if it was a smaller dog it wouldnt be getting over the fence or up at the window. The concern with the window is that he sees people, he jumps on a chair which is next to the window and RAMS it to get out. He is not simply barking. A barking dog wouldnt bother me, but when he is slamming himself against the window, and it is only a SINGLE paned window, It wont take him long to realise that with a little more force the window will give way - and dont give me the "oh no it wont" you try coming up the garden path, trying to keep you DD calm so shes not frightened whilst the dog rams itself and snarls at you and all you have going through your mind is "where are we going to go if he gets out" the path is walled in, if he gets out he will be blocking my front door so i have NO WHERE to go, I can not use the back door because they let him out, he jumps the fence and lurks at the bottom of my yard where the security light doesnt reach. The RSPCA can not do anything, the police have said that if the owners do not keep him under control they will get a court order to get the dog.
No i dont know what his intention is but lets face it, hes snarling, hes growling and barking and he's ramming at the window, and if were out on the back yard and he gets over he is running at us. Its a pretty safe bet he isnt wanting a stroke. I dont intend to let him get near me or my DD to see what his intentions are either.
im not going to post pick but the perosn who said the police couldnt do anything if dog bite DD - i understand you thought i was talking about the Dog getting my dog but believe me, if he ever gets a hold of my DD, i wont need the police. i'll shoot him myself. (And before anyone picks this would be a last resort but i WILL NOT wait on the police to come out and get him under control. He could of killed my DD by then)
The neighbours didnt warn me he was vicious to deter me. They used to own a pub, the dog was a GUARD DOG and NOT a pet. He isnt used to being cooped up and nor should he be. He would be fantastic as a guard dog BUT NOT IN A 2 BEDROOMED HOUSE.
Have been at work today, police said they would try and get hold of owners today but i couldnt ring from work as been in meetings all day, when i did get a chance to ring the phone was going to answer machine so i have no idea whats going off. Im gonna get up early tomorrow and ring again.
Not been here to speak to any of other neighbours that have stopped me in the street but i'll see most of them over the weekend so will grab them and see if they will write a statement - not sure if they can give anonimus statements as i know a few are scared but i dont think these will hold up.
When the police went round the other day the son of the neighbour was in and was hiding - my mum saw him coming out of the house just after the police left.
I will try and update over the weekend but im not planning on staying in and waiting for next door to come round!
Have a nice evening x
I just hope they hurry up it must be terrifying & I totally understand what you mean about if it got hold of your Daughter you'd kill it yourself, if I ever saw that i'd help & I love Dogs but the child is much more important. I really hate Owners like this Dogs are described, they should in no way have this Dog on their property!
I really hope the police get their act together & soon, it's a tragedy waiting to happen. This Dog needs an experienced home or to be PTS, not to be in a house as you say. The thought of it lurking in your garden beyond the light scares even me & i'm not there!
Please go to the copshop & don't leave until they come out or something, not saying you're not doing enough, I know you're doing all you can, but they don't seem in any hurry. My Uncle & Aunt had a Dog like this, a GSD x, no idea what the other half was. He got nasty & they have two kids, well, grown up now but little then. They rehomed him to someone who was an experienced dog handler, ex police or military I believe, where he'd never be able to be a danger to anyone.
I really wish your neighbours would do the same!0 -
Mommyme
Thank you for updating.....and Sorry your thread has gone so far off topic:o
I don't know that I would have been as patient with your neighbourds in the same circs as you and I couldn't agree more that your DD's safety is the most important thing.
I can only apologise if it comes across that I think this dogs behaviour and your neighbours reactions to it are acceptable.....IMHO it isn't!
Really hope the police have managed to speak to the owners and hopefully put the fear of god into them.0 -
Mommyme.....if i was babysitting your daughter and that dog attacked believe me id do it too!0

My uncles a game keeper, when i was younger we used to go shooting - trust me, i wouldnt miss. I wouldnt care if i was liable for criminal prosecution - at least DD would be alive. I dont let her sit there looking at a snarling dog, READ THE THREAD!!!! hes AT THEIR WINDOW ON OUR JOINED PATHWAY - I CAN NOT AVOID HIM0 -
Dutch...so if a child of yours was at risk from being KILLED you wouldnt think the same way? Dont be silly!
IF only my aunty had B******s she would be my uncle!
you are taking everything out of context.
The dog needs to be secure so nobody does get hurt that is the whole point0 -
Dutch..... so its the op`s fault now!!!! Guns... blah blah! Some people have no clue! I take it you dont have children?0

I believe the OP has NOT at any point let her Daughter sit looking at this Dog, I may be wrong but I believe it to be an issue when they are coming home, before they get into the house. The Dog is at the window doing it's best to reach them, and as you'd expect, the poor girl is frightened.
My Dad has guns, in a gun safe & he's licenced & ex military etc. Now, IF I lived there & saw a Dog mauling a child, even though I have NO gun licence IF I could shoot the Dog without harming the child, you can bet I would. To me i'd happily spend my life in prison if it saved a childs life.
Hitting some Dogs over the head just doesn't work.0
