Rottweiller, soft mouth? :rotfl:
Yes, honestly!!!They are very good at carrying things without damaging them......which is he definition of "soft mouth" unlike terriers, for instance that are not known for being willing *ahem* to carry items around, let alone not chew them. Nothing to do with the power of their jaws.......
One of my rotts "jobs" is to find and collect eggs that chickens have laid away from from the nesting boxes, still trying to persuade him that they shouldn't be dropped at your feet though:o we'll get there one day! There are some here who would kill the owner before the dog!0 -

If you all got the Idea that I put dogs before kids you are wrong. but I just find it weird that the child has the opportunity to see this dog at all, if mum knows he is out there. Being a Dad I would ensure my kids would not ever be able to see this going on. There is a good chance this child with grow up with a fear for larger dogs, without any real need for it. Would I kill the dog, no. No mater how dangerous that dog would be. Instead of a gun or a shovel have a fire extinguisher available by the door. If he does come in, the sound and the foam that comes out of it will make him stand down straight away. It will be 100% more effective then either of the other two. Also it is considered reasonable force (The police uses this method to controle Criminal guard dogs).
Why comment on a thread if you haven't read it? Theres no way that op can stop her dd from seeing/hearing the dog and yes, she will grow up with a fear of dogs - hardly surprising is it.
BTW, fire extinguisher very good idea, one of those nice heavy cast ones smashed over the head could well work. I would be tempted to stick with the shovel, though.
OP, I do hope things improve for you. This single pane window is really frightening. Makes you wonder if its just a question of time...
Good luck anyway. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
