Very quiet here today; Mr LW is "w*rking" from home today. Actually, he is doing w*rk related stuff; he's got to do some computer-based training for his job, so he's sitting at the firms laptop with his headphones on doing one of the modules, hence I can't make any noise.
Just realised, I have not set foot outside of the house since last Saturday! So several NSD's on the trot!
Well, have a good one, one and all, whatever you're doing.:xmastree:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Sorry haven't read the thread, only got two minutes:o
Just wanted to say
Merry Christmas
to you all, and wishes for a healthy and happy 2009!!
Father Christmas will already have been to Aussie, hope she was on the good list;)Stefe, you should be top of the good list, volunteering like you have, hope you get something nice:D
Special thoughts for those with worries, or facing the first Christmas with someone missing.
Off to Church now, so best start tuning up the voice, or may be I'll just do my normal and whisper or mime, it's certainly kinder on the rest of the congregation:rotfl: CM x
Found I had a few more minutes so have scooted through the thread at full pelt. Must say, I've got four children and we obviously never celebrated mine or DH's birthdays well enough:rotfl:We must just have random celebrations;) And come to think of it neither did my Mum or Dad:rolleyes:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Afternoon everyone
Went to Screwfix & got the bits to mend the flush, hubby fiddles around for about 15 mins, went back to Screwfix to exchange the bits as the one we bought had loads missing! Hubby managed to fix the flush & only got soaked once, lol.
Everything is ready now apart for some wrapping that I'll do later.
Have a good evening everyone & a very Merry Yule.
Hugs Hester

Sorry - another one who's not had time to read the thread - hope all are well?
Just grabbing a five minute sit down before getting the last bits done ahead of going to Mum and Dad's later. This afternoon we have made Dad's rum & raisin fudge (thanks to a super recipe on the miracles of fudge thread) - that's outside now with a newspaper over the top cooling enough to be cut. My Aunt's lemon cake is in the oven. Cranberry sauce is made, smoked mackerel pate is made. OH is just making sachertorte which will be our alternative christmas cake. Got to get the foody bits together and do some last minute wraping. OH's pressies are over at Mum and Dad's already so I need to take paper to wrap those.......
Place looks like a bomb's gone off. I was working this morning (well, faffing about the office clearing emails out of my inbox and generally having a giggle) so have only had half a day to get things done. On the bright side I came back with a bottle of Champagne, a bottle of White wine, a box of lemon biscuits, small jars of Marmalade and lemon curd and a small tin of tea and a larger one of coffee as my share of the goodies sent in by suppliers. Already had a bottle of vodka earlier in the year too so a nice haul all things considered! :rotfl:
Right - off now to check the lemon cake and do a quick tidy round - might have to stick some music on I think!
If I don't get back later then best wishes to one and all for a wonderful day tomorrow! xxx🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

flying visit before I do tea. Think the housework all done now
One of our Christmas traditions has ended, we have lived here almost 20 years and from the first Christmas NDN's 2 children (then aged 6 and 4) have always come round at lunchtime on Christmas Day with a present for us (I always sent their's to Santa Claus) and to tell us about their presents, what they were doing etc.
They have grown into a lovely young lady and gentleman but today Georgie came round to say that she wouldn't be here tomorrow as would be spending the day with her fiance and showed us her brand new engagement ring.
So we exchanged gifts, reminisced about Christmas past and I felt a little tear as she left.0 -
