  • :xmastree:A very happy Christmas Eve to all:xmastree:

Not feeling particularly OS or anything else this morning. I didn't get nearly enough sleep last night and on DH's insistance stayed in bed this morning. Instead of up at my usual 5am, I slept til 9.30! I'm still feeling rather tired, have a bit of a headache, stomach a bit iffy and such. I think it's just because I got off schedule and hoping it's not flu getting ready to get me.

I am smiling despite not feeling up to par. DH and I exchange our Christmas gifts the night before we travel to our DDs' home for Christmas, which happened to be last night. We had a great chinese takeaway first. He gave me such beautiful and thoughtful gifts, including one that brought happy tears. He seemed very pleased with his also. Our furchild got in on the act and one of her favourites is her very own blanket. She is curled up under it sleeping now. She really is such a baby. :rotfl:

I got most everything done yesterday I wanted to except the ironing and colouring my hair. As for the ironing, to heck with it today. It will still be there after Christmas and Boxing Day and we're not going to run out of things to wear. If I get my hair done today that's great, if not, I'll be the silver decorations for Christmas. :D There comes a time when you just need to say enough. They are things that definitely will not bring the world to a screeching halt and it's ok to let them go for now.

I'm looking forward to our time spent with our DDs. We're planning on just taking things easy and as they come. After years of driving myself nuts trying to make each lil thing perfect, I'm relieved not to put so much pressure on myself.

DH is getting off work early today so I do need to have things packed up for us to leave so that we catch the earliest bus we can to our girls'. I ought to have that done within 15 minutes or so and will do that shortly. Other than that, just a quick tidy up.

Have a wonderful day all. Please take time to pamper yourselves today. You deserve it.

Many gentle hugs to all. :grouphug:

    Afternoon all!

Well I was up early today as I had a lot to do. When I managed to get my hungover flatmate out to work I prepared the veg for my soup while watching "It's a very merry Muppet Christmas movie" which is their version of "It's a Wonderful Life".

Now it's High School Musical and treated myself to Tescos popcorn chicken. Might make my mince pies after cos I am bored and then I will no doubt tidy myself up and stroll along to the carols round the crib at the local church which is the service with all the children dressed up and stuff.

Still no idea what is happening tomorrow. If it turns out I am on my own here then I will probably try to find out where the local councillors Xmas do is as they want volunteers.

Hope everyone manages to have a lovely relaxing time amid the frantic activity.

Love and hugs to those who need them and Merry Christmas to all OS daily posters.

This gave me quite a giggle this morning. A bit naughty but thought I'd share anyway. Dh was working yesterday and in town there were people selling home baked goodies, roasted chesnuts etc.

The chesnut seller was hawking his wares by shouting, "I've got hot nuts here!" Apparently this gave all the shoppers a bit of a giggle. One gentleman shouted out to him, "Don't stand so close to the fire!" That in turn gave everyone another laugh. :rotfl: Was glad to hear that despite the hustle bustle of last minute shopping, folks took a moment for a laugh. :D

Hope this didn't offend anyone. If so, mods please remove the post. ;)
Thats funny Peyton cos I actually sing XXXXX's nuts are roasting , he's too close to the fire...:p
