    Hello Possums,

Just got back from a walk tonight. DD is on an exercise kick so of course I had to come with her. I don't mind really, it's good to have a sticky in people's places at night. :D I can see their decor. :o

Had a really busy day in the kitchen but got everything done that was on my list. Bit more to do tomorrow morning. I've got DGS tomorrow as well. He's not staying the night though. DS1 is picking him up. We'll see, I bet he'll be too busy

Catowen Happy Birthday _party_ Hope you have a lovely day.
Essex-Girl Good luck with the interview. Fingers crossed.
Mrs Mix I hope your results are good.

Hope you all have a great day & <hugs> to those poorly. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Catowen - happy birthday!

Waiting for gas man... I never feel I can do anything if I am waiting for someone.

Only little bear's presents to wrap. We have hardly bought him anything :o but as he has lots and lots of toys already and a large mound of presents sitting next to me, not to mention the small van load he will get from my darling uncle and my darling father, plus all those from people where I have said that instead of buying now, as his birthday is 29 December, to get a present for him in June.. I don't think he falls into 'deprived child' yet.

Sister in law insisted on him opening his birthday present while she was there. Bless him, he wasn't interested until he found an Iggle Piggle pyjama case almost as big as him (and now smeared in chocolate :o) He is not really a demanding child, and so I would rather put money to one side and get him something later. I have felt under extreme pressure (for some reason, but cannot identify from where) to buy him lots and lots when it is very clear that he does not need anything.

Well, I need to start on the kitchen, and I shall have to leave the door open and freeze in case the gas man comes. :( I'll get going in a little minute.

Evil cat, btw, used to have a 'thing' about toilet paper and kitchen roll. It was her evil nemesis. I had to actually go out and buy one of those toilet roll holders that cover most of the roll with just a 'hint of slip showing' bit hanging out because we kept going into a bathroom filled with confetti. Also I had the most marvellous cast iron kitchen roll holder that had a heavy weighted thingy so you pulled down to get the roll and then up and the weighted thingy would hold it as the sheet of paper tore off. I had to give it away. I once saw evil cat in action. She saw the kitchen roll, a gleam came into her eyes, she grabbed the roll with both front paws, fell on her side and disembowled the roll with her back paws. These days she is too old and creaky to get up to much, and I have a Lakeland kitchen roll holder, but I still miss that lovely cast iron thingy.

    Hugs to all

Happy birthday catowen, hope you have a great day :)

I'm shattered, last night I had a disagreement with a machine at work and it won :( so I was late home after cleaning up the mess. I then get in and get a call from OH who decided going out to dinner with my mentor would be a good plan *sigh*, so straight back out again. Then home to make cakes I promised for the few stragglers left at work today. Then bed at 1 am - slept through the alarm and late for work.

Cakes, however, worked really well. I had 500 ml of single cream in the fridge that needed using and a box of failed chocolate work that got crushed and added to the mixture, they are really nice and soft - and I'm not really one for cake :)

Not working tommorrow - have a job application to do for a placement in Holland and a bit of paperwork to catch up on. *sigh*

Christmas all sorted, apart from wrapping my sisters present - the florist couldn't sell me cellophane yesterday - I guess they must be running short and the other one only sells it in sheets :( Might have to cling film it instead.

Need to get some chocolate too.

OH wants to bake Christmas biccys tonight. I have the fear already. I try desparetly hard to sit on my hands, but he's so messy. And slow. Ridiculously slow. :rotfl:

Have a good day all, cel x

Makes you wonder really why we adore the smelly, hairy, messy things really :D
Because they look at you with those appealing, sad eyes.
    Because they love unconditionally.
Because they forgive you when you're in a foul mood, and don't drag up past misdemeanours to beat you with.
Because they understand when you're poorly or unhappy.
Because they're an excuse to get out of the house and go for a walk, or to roll around on the floor like a little kid.
Because they are company when you're lonely.
Because you can tell them your troubles and know they won't tell anyone else.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: this really made me laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just popped by to say Happy Birthday to Catowen:bdaycake: :bdaycake: Hope you manage to have a proper birthday and not a combined with Christmas thing - anyone who says they have spent more on one pressy for both is lying:D

Well I am a very happy Nelski as all the shopping is finally done:T :T Battled the local farm shop this morning which was manic but the veg is so lovely its worth the effort. Then went to M+S for the final couple of bits I needed and spent £75:eek:  (bloody expensive bread and milk that was:o ) M+S was absolutely hell with people queuing right down to the end of the aisles to pay. Luckily I didnt have anything to weigh so walked straight up to the technology section (where I did need an Itunes card as a last minute pressy) and paid for the lot:j Silly Season Shopping
    DONE:D :D

So now I have a house to completly bottom (my parents are here for christmas and therefore it is essential to clean everything including the light bulbs in case they look!) I also plan to paint the kitchen (it really really needs it) tidy out the garage so I can get to the drinks fridge, vax my carpets, make some mince pies, christmas biccys, cakes, sweets and a few spare HM ready meals just in case we are hungry on christmas day after the main feast
Fortunately I am shocking at comleting plans so none of the above will get done (its good to have a list though:rotfl: )

What I WILL do though is have a quick swiff - put all the food away I bought today, do a timing plan for food christmas day and iron the table cloth ready for doing the table tomorrow. (  mmmm still sounds too much wonder what I can dump)

Hope you all have a stress free day and get to enjoy a bit of precious time at home:T
    Chrimbly hugs xxx
