I think I can put this down as a bad day.
After little bear almost running up the walls he is so tired, I took him upstairs, changed an extremely gruesome nappy and just left him, making sure the gate was shut and removing the baby oil. I am now sitting in the room underneath, terrified, desperate for him to have a nap because he is at the point of exhaustion and worried to death. I have also eaten a full box of marzipan fruits. I would normally go and sit with him until dear heart and myself can do a forensic search of the room, but the gas man is due, to come and service a kitchen that looks like every pan, plate and utensil is waiting to be washed up. This morning I found a pan that I had thought was clean... And I daren't go into the kitchen because I am currently relying on a combination of baby monitor and bumps on the floor to reassure me, and the kitchen is a further floor below.
I need to buck up.

Just one question - is Evil Cat by any chance Greebo's sister?;)
Well, evil cat is a smaller than average tabby with gorgeous golden tabby thick soft fur and black paws. Largely due to being kept inside she has an absence of war wounds. She has been 'done'. However, nearly fifteen years ago when we took her to the vets we were both convinced that she was a he. She was completely relentless as a kitten and never grew out of it. So, with an attitude that Attila the Hun might feel a little too boisterous, even as an elderly cat, I suppose she is a 'wannabe greebo'. Except neither dear heart nor myself are under any illusions that 'she is an old softy really'.
My late mother was convinced that evil cat was part tabby part pedigree bengal kitten or something. She has the most amazing black paws and her fur is really dense. Yes, like her. I honestly think her mother was feral. It has taken her a while to consider humans as anything other than tin openers. Now I have been promoted to cushion.
Have you read 'The Unadulterated Cat'? I sincerely and completely recommend it. It is Mr Pratchett writing a book about cats and is thus marvellous.
Gas man has been. Sounds like little bear is going to sleep. I am now going to officially do nothing until my dear heart gets home.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Happy Birthday to Catowen, hope you got some nice presents. Must be difficult for people with Christmas-time birthdays - my GGS is 6 on Boxing Day. We always parcel up 2 lots of presents, not one large one. I quite like the idea some people have of a mid-year birthday party but still feel "your birthday is your birthday" if you see what I mean
Went to Asda this morning, the car park was chock full, fortunately someone just pulled out of a space and we shot into it. There were literally mountains of sprouts in the store, the staff were piling them up high  , don't think there will be any shortages this year.
I won't be venturing out again.......... unless I think off something I have forgotten to buy and can't possibly exist without.
Hope everyone has found a few minutes for themselves today.0 -

My OH is doing the last minute shopping, sorting our son's sick note and taking my mother to do her last minute shopping.
I have worked out what we are taking to our son's to do the Christmas dinner, so will be taking it over tomorrow.
Either having a pizza tonight or a fondue with carrots, cauliflower, spuds and anything else we fancy.

Hi all,
I have done my last shop, Morries was heaving.
My list has been completed and have also cooked sausages wrapped in bacon, vegi sos, stuffing balls, shallots & garlic. Thought I'd get them done as there wont be enough room in the oven to cook that lot along with a joint of pork, a quorn pie, roast pots (2 types, 1 with goose fat and 1 with veg oil) parsnips, yorkies and roast carrots.
All pressies wrapped, house scrubbed and downstairs windows cleaned.
I plan to have a long hot bubble bath and a glass of something chilled, ehm! no, it wont be milk.
:hello: HAPPYROLY, Thank you for enabling us to have some goodies:A
Welcome SKINT CATT, SUNNYGIRL and HERMOINE.
MIOLIERE, I do hope LO is going to be home for Crimble.
MRS.MIX, Glad you have good news.
BARGAINBIRD, Some people really do pick the worst time to pop in.
PIIPAS, I would dampen the stain with cold water, cover it with loads of salt and leave untill the salt is dry, it may take a couple of days.
CANDYGIRL, Will be thinking of you, your Mum and DD, hope DD's ex gives you all a break over the festives. ((hugs)) Not to long now for our DGD's to appear.
Love to all friends x0
