O.S Daily Tue 23/12/08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tue 23/12/08. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Everyone

Good morning all. Didn't get time to come back on here yesterday - the day just flew by and it looks like today will be the same. I'm hoping to get the last of my shopping today. DH wants to go shopping tomorrow but I'll just amble around with him soaking up the Christmas Eve atmosphere.

Spaghetti bolognaise for dinner tonight - something quick and easy.

I have a bit more wrapping up to do today and tomorrow, I still need to get the last of the ironing done, too, and have a good dust and hoover round so that I can leave it all for a couple of days and relax with everyone else!

I hope all those who have been (or still are) poorly are feeling better now. (((Hugs))) to everyone.

I'd better go and get the breakfast ready. See you all later.

    Morning all,

Goodness knows why I am up this early, when I am not at work  , still i have out a large dark wash on, so will get that on the line nice and early.

Going to take the turkey crown out of the freezer in a while, ready to cook tomorrow, alongside the bit of pork, and something for tea tonight, thats the trouble with all this Xmas planning, every day dinners tend to get forgotten  , might take some lamb chops out.

I am going to have a good clean through today, and get all the washing done, so that its not all hanging around on xmas day, I have one more present to wrap and thats it :T .

DD is off over to my mums, where they are going to spend the day making chocs, so it gives me a free day , dd is the only grand daughter, and none of the boys are interested in cooking, so mum and Ruby love getting together and experimenting.

Mrs Mix, good luck with the results x

Bargainbird is that your doggie in your avatar ? he is soooo cute x

Halight :rotfl: :rotfl: at you mis-spelling one on the twins name, and good excuse, they sound delightfull xx

Catowen have a great birthday hun   :T .

Hugs to all those in need, have good days all xx

    Morning all,
I didn't manage to get back online after my morning post y/day, I've just logged on and have read some lovely pm's. Thank you all for your kind messages ( you know who you are) I shall reply. They reduced me to tears but happy ones. The caring love sent was over whelming.

I was very down on the previous post as DB2 was so upset, he seems to think this will be his last Christmas, He's only 56. Try as I did I couldn't persuade him otherwise. I'm sorry for that doom and gloom post on Sunday night. He made me promise to look after his kids etc.

Anyway, we had a lighter chat y/day and due to one of the pm's I persuaded him that other people have come through.

Today I have to vacume up and down, DH put all the empty xmas dec boxes in the loft. I changed spare room bedding as He used it when I had the gastric flu. Must polish and wash kitcken and blitz bathrooms.

Everything has to be ready for tomorrow as that's when DD1, DGD, DD2 and SiL 2b come for xmas. I'm so looking forward to it.

Also have to shop for goodies, veg, fruit milk etc.

I finished the hampers, I'm quite pleased with them. I haven't finished the quilt I am making for DGD so I'll give it to her for her B/day.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATOWN.

    ((((((((((( SMOKY))))))))))))

Hugs to all, have a good day.x

    God and sinners reconciled
    Joyful all ye nations rise

    With the angelic host proclaim
    Christ is born in
    Bethlehem
    Hark! The herald angels sing
    Glory to the newborn King

In my calendar today – an angel :santa2:

    Happy Birthday Catowen :bdaycake:

We’re picking up the turkey today. The ironing is still waiting, mr tru did his usual "Oh let's go here. Let's just nip in there. Shall we go to X's house?"

I’m going to FIL’s this afternoon, mr tru is coming with me. That way we can do the cleaning in half the time and have loads of time to have a Christmas drinky with FIL :D Oooooh I’ve just thought – I can get mr tru to do the cat litter tray :rotfl:

Halight, check your PMs, yesterday I asked you an Important Question that needs answering today otherwise it’ll be too late :D

I don’t like saying ‘check your PMs’ in a post (this one is urgent, timing is crucial, lol), dunno about anyone else but when I read that, I end up wondering what people are talking about. Not that I’m nosey or anything
