Yes I really like Asda because the prices are low and I can get what I want easily enough - and tesco or sainsburys do cost more even when buying the basic things.

I love working the hours that I do, its just a shame about the actual work!

Ooh wine, I knew there was something I forgot to order! Enjoy your wine!

  • Hi everyone ....

Sorry I missed your posts last night Marlowvian and Don .... got home at 7.00pm and didn't log back on.
I am lucky to have a Morrisons supermarket and they are cheap, especially when it is just for me. Sneaked a bottle of red into the basket last night, great minds think alike eh..... nothing like a glass or three of Chianti!
When this bottle is finished I am going back on the wagon for a little while. I think the jitters about the OR interview have got to me a bit and I have been buying a bottle or two a week. Back to the healthy lifestyle as soon as today is out of the way.
Best wishes everyone. Good luck to Haleygrey.
    Hugs

Well so much for a good start to my week off!

OH is off today and tomorrow so I thought, great we can go out with the kids and not be stuck in the house! Well we went out, had a McDonalds Brekkie with the kids as a treat - Moan No. 1 by OH - the kids are taking too long to eat, I want to get going!

So off to make a trip to an Asda, not the local one which has no clothes section - because needed some clothes for DS1 as his brother has grown so fast that he fits DS1's T-shirts and none of his own, so bought a few T-shirts and some new socks. Meanwhile OH has disappeared and comes back with T-shirts, Shirts, Slippers! He was paying for his stuff which is fine, but then I mention I needed to look at some things for me - Moan No. 2 "But darling, you know I don't like shopping and crowds". SO after he has his stuff and the kids have their stuff - what exciting and amazing thing do I come away with - A BOX OF TIGHTS!!! FABULOUS!

Then I mention about what we are going to do next - Moan No. 3 "but Darling I have so much stuff to get done in the Garden, that's why I arranged these two days off"

So are back at home now having had an exciting day trip to ASDA!!!

Actually am feeling pretty lonely and miserable now and bit disappointed - OH has gone outside in the garden and I am at home with nothing to do but housework and no one to see. Sorry this is not particularly BR related everyone but just needed to get it off my chest. :o

Hi nervousmother - he is normally ok but just today been one long moan!

I missed out his Moan No. 4 too! He moaned that I had not bought the "extra special columbian ground coffee" for his coffee machine! I had bought an everyday blend which was on special offer! I just can't get through to him sometimes that just because you have money does not mean that it has to be spent! I would so love to see him try feed a family of four for four weeks and spend only £130!!

    Donna

Moan No. 5 - "you haven't opened the window for the tumble dryer to prevent it steaming up"

And then he asked me to make him a cup of tea (he didn't say please)!! he can make his own cup of tea!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well!

Few things been happening. But I still do not have any information from my OR. I called them on the 16th and they said would re-send it but it is now ten days later and nothing has arrived. Should I chase this up again or just leave it? Opinions please??

Other things going on - have applied for more jobs away from the Bank because I am soooo fed up of it now!

Big issue over the staff bonus being paid at work now too which is making the staff very unhappy. We worked so hard over the last year achieving targets etc etc to build up a bonus over each quarter and now being told it is no longer guaranteed. Yet they still want their pound of flesh each day in hard work! Not easy when everyone is so de-motivated. Ordinary staff are not the bank fat cats and actually worked for their bonus!

And the house two doors down from us was raided by the Police today - door bashed off the hinges etc! No idea what that was about at all!

Hope everyone else having a good week.

  • Hi Donna, so good to hear from you. You have been quieter than usual lately and it is nice to think that some other people have a life outside the board :D

I hope you succeed in getting a new job, it sounds like you are really cheesed off with the bank, time to move on (definitely with the latest news this week about fat cat wages and pensions) you get the backlash.

It sounds like your neighbours have been up to no good! I had a similar situation a couple of years ago with a guy who lived in the flat next door. One day the police came with a battering ram and took the front door and his door off the hinges and chased him across neighbouring rooftops..... It was very TV cop show.

I hope you have a good weekend and hear something soon from the OR office, perhaps they do not need too much off you? Who knows?

    Hugs

    Hi SA & everyone.

On a bit of a downer today - just got the standard "no thanks" letter from b&q! All I applied to be was a checkout girl but they said no ta! I have ten years customer service experience and I don't meet their "profile" even for a checkout job!

Hope you all have a good weekend too!

Probably TOO GOOD for them Donna, they may think that you will be up and off if a better offer comes up........

Don't fret, I know knock backs are horrid, but they are a part of everyday life now.
    Have a good weekend ......

Well I wish they would not write off people who they think are over qualified - I just want a nice simple job to do and then come home and forget about! I am feeling ok now, just bit of a let down initially. Thinking about now what I can apply for next! :D
