  • That's brilliant Donna .... well done!

I think there is a big demand for arts and crafts type things purely because it has become a dying art in this machine, gadget, techno age we live in.
People have got used to buying "disposable" clothes from the likes of Primark and people who knit or sew are in a minority now.
I used to knit quite a lot, but it just seemed to get so expensive, I made a few chunky big jumpers for myself but they weren't cheap!
Now, I just haven't got the time... or the patience!

  • I still sew! I love doing it, following patterns and the pride in a completed outfit :-)

I know, I love it because I see my boys wearing something that I have knitted for them, it gives you a real sense that you have accomplished something.

We have a great market stall where I live which sells wool every wednesday but I did get quite a few wool bargains off ebay too.

  • Good Morning everyone,

It is a lovely day here in the North East, I hope the sun will melt some of this wretched ice that seems to be everywhere at the moment.
Having been rattled by Marlowvian's problems with the OR I have posted my SOA for you all to have a look and a tweak. I shall up the groceries a bit, especially as Marlowvians OR has given £200 and she doesn't come across as the most generous of creatures! Any other suggestions even if it is to "Let it Be" will be gratefully received. Monday morning 10am. Corded phone on standby as I don't want my cordless one giving out on me and her thinking I have hung up on her!!! ;)
Another horse riding lesson on Wednesday left me with aches and pains that I swear was worse than childbirth!!! But I really did have a great time and went swimming yesterday to try and ease it off a bit - it seems to have worked so I am back down there again today.... we are lucky to have a gym and pool in my office builiding... :o
I am working both Saturday and Sunday but to those of you lucky enough to have two days off.... have a good weekend. Enjoy!!! ;)

  • Hello my friend,

Ok, finally did it and called up my OR's office - they did send my welcome pack out on 23rd January but I have not received it. She said would pass a note to Mr ..... to get it sent to me again. I am guessing since it is a Mr the message is passed to that I am going to have a male OR. Anyway, they are going to resend it to me. I know I should have called earlier but at least I have done it rather than them calling me and asking why I have not responded.

I did call it a "welcome" pack though which was probably not the right thing to call it really. :o

  • yeah lol, you think of welcome pack and automatically im thinking, card flowers...
I have my first trustee meeting this wednesday! urgh face to face but luckily both of us together, im bricking it!

The time is going quick though already 6wks since we went BR and still dont know whats going to happen!
I think the trustee meeting should answer alot of it though, but then i thought our OR meeting would answer alot and it seemed a waste of 'worrying' time.
  • Hello Jan Clanners and friends,

What a day and it isn't even over... Firstly, my OR interview fails to materialise  and that leaves me hopping mad.

Then on leaving my flat to come to work I am shocked at the state of the carpets in our communal hall and stairs .... My downstairs neighbour has done a "moonlight flit" over the weekend, vacating her flat, and the mess that they have made is dreadful. I think the HA is going to have to send out commercial cleaners to put it right, I am not going to tackle it (I normally would).

Then, I get to work to find that I have got an interview with my manager tomorrow ...... they say that things come in 3's - let's hope that the carp stops there.

Finishing work at 8pm tonight, then home and feet up.... Roll on Wednesday and a day off ...... I think it is going to be one of THOSE weeks.... where I age about 5 years in 7 days....

Hi SA and all Jan Clan people,

I am having a week like that really! Asda have messed up my order - again! About the fourth time - so far it has only been missing items but this time they have overcharged me - I called them twice and it was "oh yes mrs... we will refund the mistake in full, third time I called and I get "oh no we won't give you a full refund as it is not our error etc etc guide price blah blah previous people said wrong thing etc etc" So have sent off a snotty email complaint telling them "no refund, no more shopping" and that I will be off to Lidl and Aldi instead.

On a good note, I have finished work for the week (yes I know it's only Tuesday!) I work on a week on, week off basis to fit in with OH's shifts.

Hope that you don't have too much carp to deal with SA!

  • Hi Donna

They're always cocking up my order too or subsituting items with stuff that's nothing like it.
Thankfully its reasonably easy (or should I say it has been for me) to rectify it with them.
    No Lidl's or Aldi's near me....shame.
Seem to spend a good £30 more when I try Sainsburys or Tescos.... hate 'em

You are soooo lucky you have finished work for the week.
I am on glass number 3 of vino tinto... only planned for 1... will pay for it tomorrow :-)
