Good morning everyone .......
I hope there are not too many hangovers......
I finished work at midnight and went home for a glass or two of vino and watched the end of Jools and then Grumpy New Year - I agree with so much of what they say!!! Then bed and back at work this morning.
No rest for the wicked.....
I have been asked to work overtime next week (surprise, surprise) in a different department. It is a job I love doing and so I have said yes, but on the condition that I am paid with time in lieu, and not money, (keeping the surplus limit as a priority) and they have agreed!! :T
It means I will have an extra weeks holiday to take before 1st July.... yippee.
After that, I will have a couple of quiet weeks and a bit of me time. If you call filing for BR "quiet" This weekend I must crack on and fill in my forms. Get ready everyone - the questions will be coming thick and fast!
I think the pension ones are going to be my bugbear. Anyone else with a pension that involves being contracted out of SERPS? I haven't paid into it for years but it does pay me £200 a year at the moment (Wow).
So there you have it ..... Happy New Year to anyone I have missed. I must say it was so nice to be able to post on here last night and know that there were others in the world that weren't out celebrating!

Hi Donna,
I remember when I was offered the 6th Jan and I nearly had heart failure....
Not long now, eh?
SERPS - it is something like State Earnings Related Pension - part of your NI contributions go/went towards it. Not even sure if it is about now. Anyway, "back in the day" you could opt out and have more paid into a private pension which at the time seemed the right thing to do......
Unfortunately, like a number of financial things at the moment, I am not sure that it was a particularly good move. the pension is probably going to be worth peanuts anyway....
I really must crack on with the forms..... hope you will be on hand to help?

Hi everyone, was supposed to be going out tonight but have given it a miss. Have a sore head so would rather stay in I think. Kids are getting put to bed at 7.30 at the latest and then will have some red wine! Probably not the best thing for a sore head but
right now have got Flash Gordon on the tv, cheesy but classic and like the songs! but am going to watch a movie later on - got Wild Hogs out of Asda for £3 - its a comedy and appeals to my OH's sense of humour - it might appeal to mine in some bits!
hope that you are all having a good night whatever you decide to do.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -

Dodgy hug appreciated! :A
