I don't think it was harsh at all, and she did actually start a new thread for help
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4861524When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Would 100 separate new posts be better than 1 post with 100 replies?
This isn't a 'discussion' forum board, unlike some on MSE. We need people to see the current advice quickly - time is of the essence for them especially if they've just read a pile of rubbish that is no longer applicable. This forum is also too busy now for us regulars to keep up by answering every case from scratch any more.
Nicole is a newbie and might not be forum savvy which is why many of us carry advice in our signature (e.g. mine tells people the advice has changed and to click on the blue link to get to page one!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad wrote: »Yes on a parking forum where all cases have different dates & details, and the advice and applicable law has changed since this thread. But that's why we have the main advice in one sticky thread at the top, so people see it. Not sure why an MSEer who joined the same year I did, would arrive on any forum thread from Google and not spot that it's ancient (2008!!), and click on the 'breadcrumb trail' blue link to page one immediately. This isn't a discussion forum board, unlike some on MSE.

Well maybe this whole thread should be removed if it is so outdated? One for the mods to decide I s'pose....or the OP! Tell ya what I'll do my bit now and stop getting email notifications for it. Sorted. If I remember correctly, I received my 'fine' in 2012 so apologies for not making my own thread then.English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.0 -
We don't have Mods on MSE, that's why old threads can't be closed or removed...believe us we've asked. Board Guides can't close a thread unless the thread starter asks and seeing as he posted in 2008 there's no chance. You can't stop people Googling and generally it's a great thing - but why oh why would they then read advice from five years ago?!!
The law changed in 2012, October, so maybe your fake PCN was before that. We now win at appeal instead of ignoring.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi p2,
You are posting on an old thread. You should not ignore the ticket but you need to read the NEWBIES thread (first post on the page I given you in the link to below) to find out how to deal with it.
After having a read, if you need further help then to best help you we need you to create your own thread (click the New Thread button which you will also see in the link)

IF YOU ARE READING THIS ANCIENT OLD THREAD AFTER 2013 - WHY WHY WHY?
IT IS ANCIENT, A FORUM'S PAGE ONE IS ONLY EVER ONE CLICK AWAY FROM ANY THREAD. THINGS CHANGE, ADVICE CHANGES, DO NOT READ OLD FORUM THREADS, EVER, ON ANY SUBJECT IF LOOKING FOR IMPORTANT ADVICE ON MONEY MATTERS.
see my signature below (the black writing) for where to click in the above breadcrumb trail (LITTLE BLUE LINK) to hop ONE CLICK to page one and read the top threads of CURRENT advice on private parking tickets.
STOP READING THIS OLD THREAD.

hey several months ago I parked in a private car park at a shopping centre in northern Ireland ran by Uk Parking Control, it was busy in the run up to Christmas and I was just running into argos to pick up a toy, I parked up with two wheels on pavement as several other people had done the same, I returned to see seventy quid fine I was raging as it nearly xmas and no money to spare I put off paying and the fine went up and up to over a hundred quid I paid some off online and hoped they'd go away now letters coming from Debt recovery plus ltd threatening court action , I owe sixty seven quid now, Im afraid they will go further as the car is registered in my husbands name and afraid it could affect his credit, any advice, x0

Please start a new thread (see my signature) to ask for advice. But do so after you have read the newbie thread first and then ask about what you do not understand.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0
