OK, hindsight, as usual, is great but I was incensed when I saw they had used a mobile to actually record the supposed time. I felt that was a defence as it was inconsistent. I won't pay it and I will also investigate what right POPLA has to instruct me to pay within 14 days. I didn't think that was their remit.

They can't instruct you to pay this invoice at all. The only people who can instruct you is the small claims, but to do that they must initiate a claim, then win the case against you. You will have 28 days to pay should you lose. The reality is that it's highly unlikely to happen.

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS ANCIENT OLD THREAD AFTER 2013 - WHY WHY WHY?

IT IS ANCIENT, A FORUM'S PAGE ONE IS ONLY EVER ONE CLICK AWAY FROM ANY THREAD. THINGS CHANGE, ADVICE CHANGES, DO NOT READ OLD FORUM THREADS, EVER, ON ANY SUBJECT IF LOOKING FOR IMPORTANT ADVICE ON MONEY MATTERS.

see my signature below (the black writing) for where to click in the above breadcrumb trail (LITTLE BLUE LINK) to hop ONE CLICK to page one and read the top threads of CURRENT advice on private parking tickets.

STOP READING THIS OLD THREAD. This thread was form 2008 originally!!!!!!!!

    STOP!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thank you.
I have complained to the London Councils - I will let you know their response!

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, so apologies if i'm covering things already discussed, but am a bit nervous. I am yet another victim of the scammers that are Uk Parking Control Ltd and would be grateful for some advice please. I parked in a retail park near my home for approximately 20 minutes and left a valid ticket within the car. However, when I closed the car door, the ticket must have blown onto the seat (albeit it was actually still visible), yet I had a ticket for £90 on my windscreen. I wrote to UK Parking Control (having read a little of this forum, I know this was now probably unwise) and included a photocopy of my ticket for evidence and explained the situation. They wrote back and said they would accept a payment of £20 to resolve the issue. I didn't pay this, as didn't feel i'd done anything wrong (particularly so given I have a valid ticket!). Anyway, the usual letters have been coming threatening legal action etc (which had jumped to £150 owed and are now £120, so no consistency).
Do I need to do anything, or can I still just ignore them now? I really don't want to have to go to court over this, as I have a perfect credit rating and don't want these horrible people spoiling that.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    ssfox.

This is an old thread. Just copy your post and start a new one and people will flock to help you.

If you don't know how to start a new thread, just look and you will find!
  • I was parked in Romford in November and received a letter from this company a few days before Christnmas.
Apparently I parked on private land without shopping there and they have pictures of my car with a ticket on it.

However when I returned to my car on the day there was nothing on it. The ticket in the picture was bright yellow with black writing so I couldn't have missed it.

I appealed and I got a letter back yesterday saying they are willing to reduce it to £54. Its ridiculous and I've heard its a scam, I'm adimant not to pay it.

    Advice please!!

    Yes.

    1. Read the NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? EVEN AN OLD ONE? ***READ THIS FIRST*** Thankyou! sticky thread.
    2. Start your own thread, rather than hijacking someone else's, and then post any other questions you have there, once you've read the thread above.

That's abit of a harsh response isn't it? I, along with many others arrived at this page after doing a quick Google search. I certainly don't believe that "we" are hijacking anybody's posts. Some people simply dont know how to or have the time to make their own and after reading through the replies on this one, maybe felt they were in the correct place?! Don't be so nasty....Nicole2506 was only asking for help! Would 100 separate new posts be better than 1 post with 100 replies? I think not!

Yes it would be better to start a new thread ! The reason that the advice gets fragmented if multiple issues are in one thread. One issue per thread is how we work this section. Hijacking threads is confusing for everyone.

I appreciate what your saying. I just think telling someone to pretty much p*** off, especially for a newbie is harsh. That is all.

I obviously hijacked this thread aswell but I still got the answers I needed :)

Anyway....back on with my life it is then...
