  • Asda SP baked beans 29p I buy 24 tins a week for oldies breakfast club;)
Lots of sp stuff being discontinued at moment though. We used to go through a lot of the evp milk at work too but that has gone now, along with some of stock cubes and other basics that we used to buy :(

NYK I had the Asda own nbrand 2 for a quid.

I thought if the sp soap wasn't up to much I'd use it as a stain remover for the washing machine. Rub it on stains on the babies tee-shirts etc.

I will def get extra bars of soap for the washing machine also.

I also had some sp feminine hygiene products PL's and they are quite OK too.

I live in Kent (the London end though!) in the holidays, carolbee :) And nyk, I did the lovefilm free trial for the cashback - I thought they were very efficient and it was great to have such a wide selection of titles to choose from, meant I could order specific films I had been meaning to see for ages but never quite got round to getting hold of. And it was very straightforward to cancel at the end.

not many of us down this end then? I'm on the coast near Canterbury:santa2:

looking forward to the challenge next year and beating my budget

And am I right in thinking that the cheapest baked beans available are now 32p per tin? I'm guessing that's it for the loss leaders and it's going to be down to a game of survival of the fittest from now on. New year's resolution - get financially fit :D

The '57 varieties' ones are 1€50 ( so at the current exchange rate £1-50) a tin here . I have sourced a French equivalent but how shall I put it politely.... they're not that eco-friendly due to methane production :o:rotfl:

Well it looks like I did it but I think there should be an easier way to do it.
Had to go earlier and could not wait for a reply for help.

  • Huge excitement here! (clearly I do need to get out more)

I forgot Stockings - I normally in fact for as long as I can remember I have given my immediate family stockings at Christmas, normally pound shop jobs!!

but I did a google search, for patterns and found one

    http://www.craftandfabriclinks.com/xmas_stocking/Christmas_stocking_pattern.html

and I did a search on how to thread your sewing machine (I briefly considered hand sewing but realised trying to make three in one day is impossible.

    here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm83zA5-Yyk

am so excited!!! I already have material (various failed e bay ventures plus old clothes!)

and still have loads to do

so that is my next Frugal Christmas project

    xxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    morning frugal people!!:)

off to tesco this morning to do penultimate food shop of 2008! hoping to buy a few stockpile items from my want list, also need to get the wine to take to my parents for xmas day! have a £5 off £50 spend voucher to use up, so that should knock the bill down nicely and i think 2 x 50p off spend on wine:D will see if there are any nice wines on offer.

ordered two cookbooks last night with some of remaining 2008 money. they were: The Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, cant wait for these to arrive:j

I may buy a small ham today, if so, will cook up today for eats on boxing day (just me and little two), Im hoping to use leftovers in various dishes, love ham!!!:D

    happy christmas eve everyone!!!!
