We can get soda bread at our local Mr Ts, we have that when DH makes an Ulster fry-up, just never thought of using that for a pizza base either. We normally make hm pizza using the breadmaker, but it's quite a bit off faff so mostly we buy it readymade. This is a great midway solution! Is passata the one that is in the tubes?
Have you ever considered using pita bread as a base for pizzas? I normally get the 6 pack pita's, own store brand works fine. I then use ketchup with some basil and a pinch of sugar as a base sauce, chuck on all the ingredients, finish off with cheese and it will be done in about 10-15 minutes.... wonderful pizzas and cheap. Tastes much better than store bought ones...Smile more often, it's FREE :hello: Live on £4000 for a year stalker!0 -
Quick question for those of you who use oats to bulk out your spag bol, chilli etc. What type of oats do I need to get? I had a quick look in the shop the other day but there were all different types and I was confused.... (doesn't take much)
On a very bright note, my lovely exOH brought me round a HUGE jar of coffee that should last me until at least the summerhe wouldn't let me give him any money towards it so that's a few quid saved this next few months.
Actually, now i'm wondering if the coffee will lose its flavour being open for so long......0 -
Has anyone got any suitable quotes or poems that I can use for the cards I am making this year, please? Covering birthdays, friendship, anniversaries, weddings, babies and anything really. I'm in a creative mode. I thought this year I would get some good words and build cards round that. Don't think copyright will be an issue as it's only for individual cards for giving to friends/relatives.
This site is excellent for all sorts of quotes and things: http://www.scrapbook.com/quotes.php Great for cards, mini books and scrapbooks.~ Lexie ~The Minimoilist.Saving money and the planet at the same time.0 -

Okay, confession time - I fell in love with a notebook covered in a wool jacket while in the Lakes (for those of you who don't know me yet, I'm a stationeryaholic
with a textures fetish
) and it took all my energy to steel myself and walk away (no wonder I'm ill :rotfl:). I'm not asking your permission to buy it (I thought about it but
) as I know however much I'd like to that I can't make it, but I just wanted to check, do you think notebooks in 14cm x14cm are quite easy to come by? I think they are but might be kidding myself
That way once I fill up the book I can replace it and keep using the wool jacket :T (my last point of defence on the matter is that I am a frustrated 'writer' and one of my creative promises to myself was to focus on this again this year). Go on, someone give me the thumbs up (I already have the money in a pot left from last year
) Erm, okay, it would seem that I am asking your permission to buy it...did I mention it's £1.95 cheaper online? :rotfl:

Bails, I can happily knit you a cover for one of the notebooks you got from woolies sale or any other note book. Just pm or email me the image and then you can consider it as an early birthday pressie
Edit: I am going to be very unfrugal and go for a bath (AGAIN). But not until I have some chocolate from my xmas stash. Good thing for DD being here is that I can't munch goodies as much, I have to wait until she is in bed first. The old story of chocolate being mummy food doesn't work anymore..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

BrightonBelle-Hope you feel better soon.
SM-Your Fitter not fatter activities sound wonderful. Want to walk everyday..maybe tomorrow after popping into school (No children) I'll ask OH if he wants to pop to our local country park.
Jamiedodger-Well done for not using car. Excellent!!
Fizzel81-I would also be annoyed about the freecycle person messing you around...That type of person casts a shadow over such a fantastic scheme. On a brighter note-Fantastic news about your debts. You sound so determined in your posts.
Final 2 jobs done. Must start thinking about tomorrow's list. Felt very motivated today. OH's mince pies were delicious..so proud of him..he's not made pastry before..
