Does anyone know if you have to "pinch them off" like you do with tomatoes or do you leave them to get on with it? Also I heard they like the frost, is this true?? I'm reluctant to put them outside in case they die. Any advice would be greatly received.
They need to go outsideDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

I'm planning on growing more this year. Thinking about Potatoes (in a barrel thingy?), carrots, runner beans and salad bits. (In our small garden, we've also found that hanging basket tomatoes do well...) We also have chilli plants, which we are now harvesting for the third time.
Just worked out that my £4000 for the year works out at abot £10.90 a day. Doesn't sound too bad now...Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

Sorry to hear you're getting worse BB and will have to miss work and more importantly pay
Hope you feel better as soon as your body can manage it.:grouphug:
On the growing front peeps, what can I grow that I can harvest before the end of July (as that's when we'll be leaving the country)? And can I grow peppers entirely indoors presumably and therefore start them now? Thanks a lot.
Got some new recipes to add to the mix from our time at other people's houses over Christmas and New Year so looking forward to even more variety in our menu plan :T Groceries are going to be my main focus to start with this year (don't think I can face the GC thread with the rate of this one though) and gradually reduce spends whilst keeping quality and interest high. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I don't do the shopping - OH does and I've been with him nearly six years. Before that I was a single mum of three and ordered once a month on line and knew my prices really well. Chopped tomatoes were 9p and as such made the basis of so many meals. I just went on all the websites and the value ones are 33p! I'm mortified. OH says they were only ever that price as one of those price war things like the bread wars.
I'm determined we will eat cheaper and healthier this year. I finally got a grocery average out of OH yesterday and apparently we spend £620 a month!!! Five of us and three cats but even so. I think £400 should do it! He did say since my new meal regime the Nov-Dec bill went down to £500 so we shall see. And I do hear that food prices are set to fall this year?Wendy x0 -
