Bails, I would say buy the book unless sm's good idea to buy some felt yourself appeals. But beware getting caught up in the making, and the time/energy required to source materials rather than the getting on with the writing which is what you want the book for. But she also made the wise observation that if you are still thinking about it after coming home, then it's not a momentary whim.

We can get soda bread at our local Mr Ts, we have that when DH makes an Ulster fry-up, just never thought of using that for a pizza base either. We normally make hm pizza using the breadmaker, but it's quite a bit off faff so mostly we buy it readymade. This is a great midway solution! Is passata the one that is in the tubes?
You can get it in Mr T's - it's by the tinned tomatoes usually and comes in a little green n red cardboard carton - I think its about 40/50p and you only need a spoonful for each pizza so the rest of it can go in the fridge -I usually make past sauce with passata as well - mushroom, bacon, and onion with a few basil leaves is lovely. It makes pizza so much cheaper - 25p for bases, 10p for sauce, toppings about 50p (I'm a big fan of various meats with mushrooms) and 50p for cheese. So £1.35 for 2 pizzas that fill you up for hours!
I didn't want to buy a big blender if I wasn't going to use it so I cooked my carrots and parsnips until they were really soft then mushed them up in a bowl, added some boiling water and whisked like crazy with my new IKEA whisk collection - present from my mum - and it seems to have worked. It smells yummy simmering away with some coriander.
I wanted to have a go at growing herbs like basil and coriander - do they need much sunlight? - I have a high back wall behind my kitchen and it doesn't get much sun"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -

Can you guys post about relaxing stuff you do as well as all your shopping trips because I feel really lazy if I haven't ticked 100 things off my list by 9am?!
hi Whitewing, still catching up on todays posts but had to reply to yours!
Got woken at 3.50 this morning by very drunk DD, plus DS & his GF back from surprise party for their Dad (who is moving far away from here - yay). Once we all managed to get up about lunchtime we had a lovely time playing board games (their idea, and great fun) and a big roast chicken dinner followed by chocolate trifle (unused at Christmas) and more silly games. DS & GF just gone, and now I'm relaxing by catching up on the thread
NSD and absolutely nithing done to contribute to the challenge - sometimes we just need a day like this.
To the student (sorry can't remember your name and not time to check back now, more thread to read yet!), I've been gradually increasing the amount of watering down the milk, so no one has noticed, or if they have they haven't let on, so either way it must be ok. Now water down by approx 1/3

Just to delurk - you can make wool felt out of 100% wool jumpers. I believe that you put them on a hot wash with something bulky and then iron it (or something like that). Great if you can find cheapo jumpers at a charity shop :j
(This is someting I've been meaning to make myself). Back to delurking now.....Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
