I'm not sure I understand. Are you growing them in the kitchen?
Yes, sorry, bad wording! I'm growing them from seeds and they've really shot up!You can plant a variety of broad beans called Aquadulce in your garden in Oct/November and these will over winter. They then have a head start on the other varieties which you normally plant in Feb/March. I pinch the tops out when they are at full height and have flowered and the beans are starting to form. Broad beans are suseptable to blackfly and pinching out the top helps prevent this - no blackfly, then I dont bother. If they are completely free of blackfly you can pinch them out young and eat them like cabbage.
I have never heard of them grow indoors so this may not be much help but I would be interested to hear how they do. It may be a shock for them to be put outside now but maybe put them in a cold, bright place to slow down the growth a bit until you can plant them out.
A word of warning. I have seen lots of people saying they are planting seeds. Please don't be too hastey because if they are ready to plant out before the frost is over they may get too long and leggy before you get them in the garden. Waiting a week or two is usually ok and they catch up. I haven't planted anything yet - will start towards end of Jan.
Also, they need heat for germination, but once germinated keep the heat down, again to keep them strong stocky plants rather then tall weak ones.
Of course exceptions apply to the above - this is just for most veg. ). My reckoning is that if they grow then :T , if not then I haven't lost anything.
