what breed is she? im not entirely sure im afraid.
maybe she was rather uncomfortable. even though it is a routine, it is a big operation. so maybe pain was a factor? if it was one of us we would be laid up for a few weeks- i no i would!! (im not very brave)0 -
She seems to be managing fine with the cone on her head, I might take it off in a day or two, and see if she leaves the stitches alone, if not , I'll pop it back on. She is still very dozy, and I notice her eyes are watery, that normal?0 -

No idea what mix she is, (rescue dog) she is sighthoundish, actually looks more like a podenco than anything! - (I was gonna send you a photo so I dont hijack the thread too much but I dont seem to be able to PM you!) - she is the only dog I have seen who has been so affected by the GA for so long after - my smaller and more solid dogs always seem to bounce right back!!0 -
shes lovely-looking quiet content!
they normally take a good 24hours to come around fully, if u have any concerns, then give ur vet a shout.
some clients find they need the collar more as time goes on a the wound becomes itchy (like ours do if we had one). just seen how it goes, at the very least pop it on when when ur not around or at night.( try and put it one about half hour before u leave so u know shes not gonna get it off as soon as u go, some cats are far to clever!)0 -

ive changed it now -i hope (im a bit new at this)
some pets are a bit more delicate than others. pets with a bit of meat on them can be up about rather well.
if sh needs the have another op in the future, let them know what she was like before hand, so the can be prepare and may need to adjust things accordingly. u maybe able to request that they keep her in longer or even overnight (may cost) to help put ur mind at rest0 -
For the Hills keep an eye out at pets at home, they often do 3 for 2 on it.
Its good food, all the premium dried ones are.
Much nicer in the summer too & don't smell.
I just had a look at pets@home website, and they have some off the hills food on offer (£11) but not the indoor one I would need, but even though that food is on "offer" my vets are only charging £10.47. I don't even think it would be worth it if it was 3for2 as they want £15.65:eek: for a 2kg bag, so it would work out the same price near enough!
I'll keep my eyes peeled though!0 -

Yes sighthounds are more sensitive to some types of anaesthetic, and it depends what your vet used - there is no 'standard' anaesthetic agent used across the board, and different practices have different GA protocals. I would deffo mention it if she ever needs another GA in the future.I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Cheapest place I've seen it is at VetUK - £20 for 4kg bag
Not many places stock Hill's Indoor Feline so you might also want to look at Royal Canin Indoor which usually works out slightly cheaper than Hill's but just as good, if not better, nutritionally.
Zooplus stocks a huge range and usually offers 10% discount for new customers“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Thanks all! Well Chaya has 0 body fat lol i'm wondering if she's underweight or if she really is Whippet x & maybe they have the backbone showing like Greys do? That might explain why after a month & a half in rescue she still isn't a normal weight in looks, maybe it's normal if she's Whippet?
I looked at Whippets & she does seem to have Whippet ears lol the Staffies look like they flop over forwwards, hers sorta look backwards, you can see inside them & they sorta fold like a Terriers but back. I'll post pics later today! I leave in an hour
I was gonna nip her Vets for a checkup but cancelled as she's in season, she hates other dogs at the best of times & I don't want to get any worked up that might be waiting! Seeing as it was a basic check & not illness she can wait! I at least know she's not spayed now!
I'm glad to hear she should be able to walk, it's not far but the cars can't get to the door they have to stop in the carpark, then there's the communal grass area/garden, then home. So just a walk across the grass, far enough to not want to try carrying her, but not so far you couldn't. I think she only weights about 2stone lol i'm such a wimp
When the cats had a scale & polish before & come home she's tried to jump onto an armchair & missed by miles lol0 -
lol!!!
it is quite funny...he always looks really proud of himself too when he's doing it!
I had a look on the internet...but I mean, what do I search for...lol! Seems people have cats that "pop out" and hump things, but not messing with it all the time.
Could it just be his age and being a bit horny???0
