Cat getting neutered

Hi,

Ive got 2 cats that used to be housecats but now they like to wander outside so i need them neutered. However i cant afford the 50 pounds that the vets around me are charging for the 2 of them.

has anyone any experience of the cats protection vouchers and how if i would be entitled to them on wtc, ctc and a little bit of council tax benefit?

or any other similar services? i dont want kittens!

Thanks

Vtmil

talk to the vets, you may be able to pay a bit at a time if you explain your situation.
Also talk to your local cats protection and rspca.

You may be eligible for the p d s a they have a scheme for people on certain benefits ,and they are very good too ,just a small donation ,but in your cae there is a set charge for neutering ,give them a ring ,
  • ring RSPCA and they will be able to help- I didnt think I'd be entitled to any help but my 2 were done for free

  • here in whitby we have the Animal Welfare and they pay half towards your cat or dog getting done, and at our vets there's a big poster saying £25 to have your dog done, so if you ask at the vets they might be able to help or look up your local Animal Welfare in the phone book.

Whereabouts in the country are you as schemes are often local.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

Try the local RSPCA clinic , or the Cats Protection League may help

Cats Protection offer a voucher scheme (£26 towards spaying female cats and £20 towards male neutering) to those who are either on means tested benefits (which I guess CTC is?) or a full time student.

Usually council tax benefit is one of the qualifying criteria for neutering vouchers, housing benefit, JSA and income support I think are the main ones (all these are means tested benefits). Several councils also offer neutering voucher/free neutering schemes. Some of these are not means tested but depends on area. Worth checking in your local area to see what is available.
One day I might be more organised...........
