    Hello

Haven't time to catch up at the moment, as have just got back from midwife and I want to grab a cuppa before I rush off to get the boys. I have an extra child coming home with me in the form of ds2's 'best friend' to play and for dinner....why do I do it to myself??

Everything is fine - baby is in a great position, heartbeat is strong, bump is correct size... blood pressure and urine are both fine. So I have a home visit arranged for next week to discuss home-birth and to arrange for all the kit to be sent out etc..... :D

Just been reading my notes, and appears I do have protein in my urine, plus a few other things that I've no idea what they are! Shall have to try and get MW to read it tomorrow. Why can't they write clearly! Am I right in thinking the number of +'s is important? I only have one +, so hopefully not too bad. Feel a bit annoyed that nothing was explained to me, or that they didn't listen to the baby. Would have thought they'd check? Or I suppose me not having an acutal appointment might have made a difference.

I'm trying to wash up now, but shoulder is very painful and its hard to wash up with one hand!

Don't know about protein but Ketones is measured in +'s... I know cos mine were ++++ which is the highest and why they had me in hospital at 6 weeks ;) They were going to release me at one + but by the time they got me my prescription and discharged me it had dropped to no plusses so basically normal :)

Right seeing as i'm dd's birthing partner gals I need some advice. At what stage do I take her to the hosp?I'm worried about driving if she's freaking out, so I might get mum to take us:rolleyes: When I had her I was induced so it wasn't an issue:D
Another thing is can anyone recommend a good baby swing ?
Mum took me about 2 hours after contractins started but I was in unusual excrutiating pain, my mum is the worlds biggest 'fretter' so i'm sure you will be fine!
Probably best to play it by ear as there isnt really a set time to go in, although they do say dont go in too early with your first, but you can always put labour ward on speed dial and phone them as and when.
    :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j

that is the same changing unit and cot bed we have for Charlie and it is fantastic! i must warn you the codbed is huge compared to a normal standard cot lol! ours is in the pine though!

LOL yeah I know it's pretty big (was thinking that when I was looking at it in the store!) but I can live with that ;) I liked the white because it goes with every colour I can possibly contemplate and more to the point the floor in there will be a light maple and would look odd with a wooden cot etc...

not sure if anyone has answered yet but yes, they are measured in +'s. You get nil, 'tr' for trace and then go up in +s. 1 + is not unusual - female urine samples are often 'contaminated' by vaginal secretions (that's partly why a midstream sample is asked for). I show as 1 + protein pretty often - even when not pg (and have done since I was a teenager). They occasionally send it to the lab but have never found anything

AM - a bit off fun as u claim to live in a chavvy town visit this site and put in ur postcode it rates the area, where I grew up is 45 and where I am now is 39
"Often, many of the people who live in this sort of postcode will be skilled older families living in terraces. These are known as type 39 in the ACORN classification and 2.8% of the UK’s population live in this type."

FYI 1 is super posh and anything towards/past 50 is a shiphole

I'm late joining in on this. We're a 10 - same as Mrs T, I think? Our old house is an 11 (I'd say there's a few more points in between, tbh) and our first house a 30.
