Remind my baby brain - did you have high BP or low BP?? (not that I am obsessive or anything!!)

well this overdue business is turning out to be very un-mse  I spent the morning in the hairdressers and then went to tescos for some milk and spent £20 and then found a gorgeous independent lingerie shop which fitted me for a nursing bra which is gorgeous (but as it's Hotmilk it -and the matching pants which I had to have ;) cost a fortune).

I haven't bought a breast pump or anything like that yet, but staying away from asda just in case you lot influence me into buying anything else!

MFD my MW told me the same about johnsons products. I'm not going to use anything for as long as possible and then go for something very mild.

hi ladies, hpe everyone is ok

got a couple of questions if you wouldnt mind helping me out?

i think im gonna know the answer to this one as ive read all your posts, but im assuming baby wipes wont dry out before you use them as long as theyre kept sealed? i want to keep buying them as theyre very handy, and my mum said, wont they dry out by the time you use them? so we lokoed on that back and it had that 6 month sign, but surely thats once theyre opened??

also on the breastfeeding side... i dont know where i got this from, but i read somewhere you should breastfeed AND bottle feed as it causes tummy upset? ... the pennys dropped... do they mean you cant mix breast milk and formula milk??? i thought it would be nice for hubby to do the odd feed but didnt think i could i was breast feeding??

not sure where i got that from, im sure youll all put me right !!! :D xxx

I'm sure it will be a lovely experience for you!

My mum has offered her services if my OH doesn't want to come in (he's a bit squeamish and this is his first!) but he's still insisting he'll be fine - if he stays up the head end!
Mum says she thinks she'd like to be there to support me - but also wouldn't as it'd be hard for her to see 'her baby' in pain!

  • djd - krystal is the font of all breastfeeding knowledge - there is some guidance about not giving the baby nipple confusion by trying to breast and bottle feed (expressed milk) too early. The general rule though is if you have established BF'ing then you can express and hubby can do his duties too!!
Correct me if I am wrong Krystal!!

    I'm jealous!

LOL! I'm one of these quite anxious types, where knowing about stuff makes me feel better IYSWIM?!

I'm also in a semi-medical job, working as a counsellor in Mental health. So when I discovered I was pregnant I subscribed to the British Journal of Obstetrics and gynaecology (the one the Drs and midwives read) and I've been gobbling up info ever since!

So if anyone wants me to look stuff up in the medical journals, I'm really up for that, just post or PM me!;)

Just hope I don't annoy you all with my geeky facts and figures!:o:D

    Love

unopened, they will keep fine. Once you open a packet a good tip is to store them in a tub, or to store them upside down, which ensures that the packet is sealed and loss of moisture is minimal. HTH

MFD is right - krystaltips is the font of all knowledge re: feeding, but I have been told NOT to mix formula and breast and not to feed baby expressed milk via a bottle until bf is established - which takes about 4-6 wks.
