Looks luvverley - do you like it?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Been looking at breats pumps, I want to give BF a go again this time. 1st time I gave up as DS1 had been in SCBU and they were calling me down several times a night, so I was tired he was taking 2 hours to feed and I wanted to just give him a bottle. 2nd time we were doing great then that big bloody nurse asaulted my boobies! So this time, I will be trying it again and telling everyone to back the hell off. I fancy expressing and giving a few expressed feeds in between BFeeds. Last time I had an avent hand pump, which was fine for me, I have a pair of milk machines. Only thing I didn't like was that my nipples would get 'sucked inside', which hurt. Anyone got any reccomendations?0

oooh that one would be perfect!! Loks like I best get in the shower now!! tats me going to toys'r'us, ikea and prob asda this aft - good job they are all in the same estate thing!
Well I liked it LOL DH is moaning now that there isn't anywhere to put it till he's actually decorated the nusery but tough!
And the nice chap at Toys'R'Us not only wheeled it all out for me he also put it in my car bless him! Good job I took the BIG car (although looking at it I think it would have fitted in the Passat too - just harder to get it in and out)

tiamai - that's why I want a milking machine lol well pump - apart from the fact that I would LIKE to BF then there is the practicality of being able to get DH to do the occassional feed and also for his sake... I know he will love feeding baby when she gets here and I really don't want him to feel left out
And plan is that depending on how tired I am then he can do the late feed (11-12pm) as he's a natural night owl anyway and I'm not

Right seeing as i'm dd's birthing partner gals I need some advice. At what stage do I take her to the hosp?I'm worried about driving if she's freaking out, so I might get mum to take us:rolleyes: When I had her I was induced so it wasn't an issue:D
Another thing is can anyone recommend a good baby swing ?"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

my house is like a bomb site and charlie is not helping ripping every piece of paper in site???
oh good news for once:D i was talking to one of the mums on the way to the nursery today and she told me she was going back to work in 5 weeks, it turns out she is a midwife and said that if i have any problems or MW cant get here in time for the HB then to give her a call and she will be right here!! so feeling a bit calmer about it all now:D well that and OH shouted me upsatirs this morning to see if we could help baby along:D think he was feeling sorry for me pmsl:PWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
tia - I used the avent one and I know what you mean... a found that if I repositioned the pump it was ok but I used to have a warm face cloth on standby to ease things a little... although I didn't need to express much just enough to mix in with breakfast for dd2. I guess it depends on how of you want to express?
If there is a local b/f group might be worth going along and asking those who express what they use and how they rate it?
lol I don't remeber them having anything other than the avent one but I bought it for my first so that would have been 8/9 years ago just couldn't express for her.
Hello to everyone who has joined.
Tinkerbell - take care of yourself hun, I remember what the hospital treadmill was like when fil was in (c diff. caught in one hospital and then mrsa in another)
9 weeks today - got myself into a right state last night so much that my abdomen was causing lots of pain. So I will not stress myself out (even though it seems Mum will be moving back in with us for a month) I guess that might sound mean - my mum is a compulsive gambler and everything that goes along with it. We moved her in last september when her house was repossesed so that she could sort herself out and she can't/won't/hasn't. I guess I wouldn't feel so stressed if it wasn't us who ended up picking up the piecessorry I have been kinda down over the past few days, been lurking though

When it gets unbearable!?!
I'm not much help. With my first i paniced and went to hospital too soon and ended up being there 26 hours before DS arrived - i was bored senseless!
With no.2, i was in bareable labour all day - went to tesco's and kept myself occupied, and went up to hospital when it started to really hurt at about 8pm and she arrived just before midnight.
I'm still worrying about this one starting - and me not knowing when to go to hospital!
And I don't think i freaked out in the car on my way - except from telling OH that i'd changed my mind and didn't want to have a baby now :rotfl: .
It might be a good idea to get your mum to take you so she can drop you both and go home - save on parking if your hospital is as bad as ours.:beer:0 -
I'm planning on staying home as long as possible!
I'm still waiting for information on the hospital beds! Seems no-one at the hospital knows what the weight limit is! Hopefully they'll find out before I need to use one.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
