Ok apparently I'm a worry wart
I just know everytime there has been small babies on flights I've been on I've been actively looking for a parachute before we got halfway
When I have established that there are none I start on the alcohol cart to prevent myself from causing actual bodily harm on the parents for subjecting me to this torture... Maybe I am less understanding because I travel a fair bit by plane for work even if not as much as I used to in past years... There was nothing worse than arriving the other end with bags under my eyes because some child had been screaming all the way... and then going straight to a customer site infront of MDs etc...

Cat - your sig was confusing me...it says
MFD (which is me!) Dec 16 (which is today)
I thought I had been 'collected' or something...like DSS does with his trading cards
then I realised...:o
...anybody else want to collect me??please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Cat - glad your scan went well! When is your due date? (I know - I could figure it out based on how far along you were if I was clever today, but I'm not!:rotfl: I have mushbrain today!)
Sami - I wish I could get Liam to eat scrambled eggs! He will eat an egg mayo sandwich but won't touch scrambled eggs. I think it's the texture, but not sure. For some reason he is just infatuated with cream crackers right now - wants one with lunch and tea every day - plus for a snack if he can get one! Oh, and thanks for the info on the wipes from Morrisons. We may have to pop over and pick them up. Liam's not potty trained yet (decided to wait until after Christmas to attempt that!) so we're still using wipes for him.
I had a nice nap today while Liam was sleeping - but now a bit queasy and nothing looks good. I may have to dig out some tortilla chips again - at least I can nibble on them.
Ok - I have the same question - how did Suzy on Eastenders get the positive test?! But then I don't recall if she actually SHOWED him the test - did she?? Or did she just say it was positive? I can't remember!
I did have to laugh over the playing music for the baby - I swear Liam was born recognising 3 specific tunes - the theme music from Corrie, Eastenders, and Emmerdale! :rotfl: When he was littler, he stopped everything when those tunes started on the television - of course, now his bedtime is 6pm so he's asleep when they come on.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Only problem is jabs - how does that work? Are you not supposed to travel before they've had them? Only requirement for Korea is the standard childhood ones, nothing special needed (as long as I'm not staying in a paddy field!).
!
feelie - I asked MW about this issue as we may be relocating abroad as soon as baby appearsShe said that babies cannot travel by air until they are AT LEAST 14 days old. No exceptions - this is the airlines rule.
I asked about jabs and she said that it would be better to wait until baby had it's jabs which is about 6-8wks or so, depending on NHS area etc etc (baby may require extras depending on where you are going - I'd speak to a HV or MW about this issue)
persoanlly if it was only for a holiday there is no way I'd take baby abroad without necessary innoculations. if I had no other choice and I knew I could have them done asap when we landed then I would perhaps make an exception - it's a case of wait and see on that one - but I'll do everything in my power to waitr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

I know the trip to Austria is much sorter than Japan, Korea or Australia )obviously!) but as our flight was at something like 8am we just woke chris up at the latest possible time, just enough for him to have a little bowl of porridge and a nappy change stuck him still in pjs in an all in one snow suit thing and off we went (realising halfway to the airport that FIL hadn't put the pram in the mini bus!) a very nice lady chef in one of the air port cafe zapped Chris's bottle for me and he had that then we got on the plane Chris had a special seatbelt that attached to mine and promptly fell asleep only waking up once I had to get up to get off the plane no crying what so ever! :A he slept through the taxi ride from the airport to hotel too! The hotel we stayed at was run by a family who happend to still have their son's pram and let me borrow it while we were there (which was fab as it had big bouncy wheels and was fab seeing as we were halfway up a snow covered mountain!
Trip home wasn't as easy as it was afternoon but Chris made a little friend in the seat in front and they spent most of the flight playing peek a boo again no crying at allI just made sure he was sucking a dummy when we took off/ landed and he was fine

Hopefully the baby will get used to travelling pretty young. We usually go home every 3 weeks, 250 mile drive each way. Hopefully that'll get him used to it. A practice flight is a good idea though, I'll definitely fly to Manchester if we are told we'll be going abroad.
Thats if OH decides he wants to work. I think at the moment his aim is to take a few months off to spend time with the baby. Although that might change if he realises he'll have to do the housework while I look after the baby.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

You actually saw it...it was one of those ones that said 'Pregnant' on it...but the results don't last do they? I mean she couldn't have stolen someone elses and kept it.
Maybe she just popped along to the local maternity unit where they throw away tons of little tubes of pregnant lady wee every day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
