    morning

No baby yet, no signs, pains or dramatic waters either :D But if another person phones to ask if it's here yet I'll scream.

Re: Home births, all pain relief argumnents aside, Redmel, the big thing for me is choice, If you organise a HB, you can change your mind up until actaully delivering and go to hospital etc if you want to/change your mind. Obviously you can't do that the other way round. If you are unsure, keep your options open for as long as you need to make that decision. Every labour and every woman is different, therefore there is no right or wrong options - you just worry about what is right for you and your baby and situation.

caz and sami - I also had one of those tearful.upset.angry days yesterday. Hubby was so sweet and massaged my feet for me in the evening - a sure sign he was feeing bad for me :D But then we are pg and the hormones that are raging through our body are mad - so we are definately allowed an off day every so often.

trying to plan this week - a friend coming over at 10am this morning, have the ironing to do this afternoon. Tomorrow I have reflexology in the morning, but after that I am stuck - any ideas????

good luck to those having scans :hugs:

sorry if i sound dumb but what do you mean by baby friendly? x
    Not at all!

Baby friendly is a set of initiatives set out by Unicef that a hospital can sign up to with an aim to increasing breastfeeding rates and improving the support offered to new parents... Link to details here.
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Morning ladies - well with all the bad news we have been very pro-active this weekend - we have bought the laminate flooring and everything to go with it for the nursery as well as the wall paint :)
This morning my hormones were going mad again so I decided hubby no longer had a say in the matter and frankly jumped him before he had a chance to escape me! So right now sat here with a smug grin on my face ;)
With any luck DHs issues with pregnant women might be partially fixed at least ;)
So - now we're looking forward... I've had 3 losses during little Roo's stay with me so far - my ex's dad in the early early stages and then both my grandparents. I'm working on the theory that there is surely only good things to come now?
I'm hoping any inheritance from my grandparents will cover the flight tickets home so I don't have to take from my savings to pay it but if I do I do - I'm going home regardless! I know there isn't much money left, and less when it's been split between children and grandchildren so if there is £200 I'll be happy :) The most important things are what has sentimental value and I think those bits have been shared fairly amongst us thankfully so hopefully one less worry!

You really don't know whether you'll cope or not until the time comes Skinty.

There are thousands of women who don't want pain relief, but when it boils down to it, they have it because they just can't cope.
Exactly, I was never going to have an epidural, no way! but when I went into labour and was doubled up on the floor from the very first contraction, that soon flew out the wondow.
Turns out Aston's head was pushing against the left side of my pelvis at each contraction and when i tell you it was painful, my god i aint lying, this was no normal labour pain, this was 'i want to chop my legs off or jump out the window and kill myself coz it must be better than this' pain.
And i've had nothing but problems since, pelivis/hips out of allignment becuase of this and i get alot of pain running from the left side of my hip down to my foot.
I just pray I dont get back labour this time because that will finish me off!

Mrs T you've had a hard time, but I'm sure (in it's odd way) it's a sign that there is room in the world for your new bundle :D Things often come in threes (Is that just a british expression?) so your 'bad luck' is officially over now - I have declared it so it is so!!!!

Glad you have managed to focus on other things xxxx

Anyone know why first babies seem to come late rather than on time?

Come to think of it, has anyone heard of a baby arriving bang on time? (isn't it only like 2% that do?)

    Just curious really.. :)
OH's daughter came bang on her due date, Aston was 3 weeks early, i hope this one is too.

    Morning ladies!

Can I ask a stupid question for anyone who is 20+ weeks/anyone with a prominent bump?

What knickers are you wearing?! :o :rotfl:

I've got normal high leg and shorts knickers which fit fine, but stand up/walk around and both are absolute pants (excuse the pun lol), they just roll down under my bump which means they then hang off my backside!

Has anyone wore/wears the knickers that go right up over your bump? They look the most comfortable to me

I ordered some maternity bottoms last night from the M&S site, they were only £9.50 a pair (which is a bargain, they are £20 in Mothercare!!) so I got 2 (in black) and one each of the black and geranium 3/4 sleeve tops, which are £9.50 each too.
Also treated myself to some gorgeous per una slippers :D

Trousers (in black, pic might show grey)

Top (one in pic should be geranium, they have the exact same in black too)

Gorgeous slippers! :D (I've got a pair similar and they're super, you can throw them in the washing machine!)
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...

Do first babies come late? Is there any figures on it? I might have a google!!

My first two both arrived at 38 weeks - and i'm 38 weeks today!!!
I really should finish packing my bag.

I've already had people phoning/texting over the weekend to see if its made an appearance yet! Why do they bother? I'd love to say to one of them 'Oh yes, we had her last week, just didn't bother telling anyone!!'

Felt a bit strange yesterday afternoon, not in pain or anything - just peculiar! Then I was cleaning my kitchen til midnight - i NEEDED to! Am I nesting or is it psychological?

    Hiya 3onitsway,

I read that the average arrival date for a first baby is 40 + 4.
