Do first babies come late? Is there any figures on it? I might have a google!!
My first two both arrived at 38 weeks - and i'm 38 weeks today!!!
I really should finish packing my bag.
I've already had people phoning/texting over the weekend to see if its made an appearance yet! Why do they bother? I'd love to say to one of them 'Oh yes, we had her last week, just didn't bother telling anyone!!'
Felt a bit strange yesterday afternoon, not in pain or anything - just peculiar! Then I was cleaning my kitchen til midnight - i NEEDED to! Am I nesting or is it psychological?
Ooohhh you're nesting!! Might not be that long now! :T
38 weeks....I wish I was 38 weeks! I can't believe I'm going to get bigger and feel worse than I already do now - I'm absolutely bored sh!tless being at home all the time
25+2 and counting... :rotfl:
Oh forgot to say, my son (firstborn) was 2 weeks late and my daughter was a day early xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Is there any way I can know for sure when my baby will arrive?
Unfortunately, at the moment although we can make educated guesses as to when babies are likely to arrive, we have little way of knowing exactly when to expect them. In fact, research shows that only 5% of babies are actually born on their predicted due date, 70% tend to arrive after this whereas 30% come into the world 'early'. As a little reassurance though around 80% of healthy babies are born within the two weeks before, or the two weeks after their EDD, so mentally preparing yourself for your baby's arrival sometime between the 38th and 42nd weeks of your pregnancy is a good idea. In fact some doctors have even recommend estimating a month of arrival rather than a specific day.
So is that saying 70% if all (not just first) babies are late?
I think i read somewhere that in France they give you a 42 week pregnancy, which if 70% are late - makes more sense!:beer:0 -

Are you gonna get the big huge ones too then?
They look so naff and unflattering, but sooooo comfortable!
I need some bras too, I'm wearing ones I got when I first found out I was PG, but they are underwired and I can't sit down wearing them now cos of my ever expanding belly/ribcage!
Not keen on Maternity ones so may just go to Asda and get some suppoertive non wired bras ~ probably a lot bloody cheaper too!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I cant wear anything but underwired, i need my boobs to be lifted or they would be swinging round me ankles they so big, I've just bought a new freya bra in the next cup size up, fits like a glove and dont give me pointy boobs! :T
God I wish I could buy bras in ASDA, i get mine from ebay, brand new but usually seconds as the freya ones are bloody expensive in the shops.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

I was thinking about it yesterday too! :rotfl:
I was drawing up the pros and cons of both normal birth and C section. I don't mind contractions at all, infact bring them on! BUT pushing the baby out.......I could cry just thinking about it now. Me no likey
I might have to have a C section depending on the results of my next 2 scans because of the placenta previa ~ so it looks like I'll know one way or another in the next 7 weeks :cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I got some maternity ones from M&S and they're the most unflattering thing i've ever seen - they just make me look like i've got one big boob!!
Then I got a couple of plain, non-wired t-shirt bras from Asda, for £6 each i think, they're much better and much more comfy!
I've managed with normal short style knickers - i found the over the belly ones rolled down!:beer:0 -

Steve already thinks I've morphed into my Mother, so Granny knickers won't phase him one bit :rotfl:
My boobs are huge, that's why I've stuck to underwired till now. I'm a 40e now, maybe I should just go to Asda and take a heap of wired ones in changing room with me and see which feels the best, cos like you, my nipples would be brushing the keyboard in a non wired
I think I'm getting really old.....along with Granny knickers, I think the Triumph 'Doreen' bra looks soooooooo comfortable. :rotfl:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
