Well, I'm looking forward to drugging my baby up on pethidine, at least I get a rest afterwards if he is all sleepy!
Oh did you manage to get the answers you were looking for about pain relief?

I didn't have any drugs just gas with Chris and he slept for an age after the birth anyway :D I heard that most babies do so drugs wouldn't really change that anyway

Got an appointment at 34 weeks to discuss everything, so will make up my final mind then. I imagine it'll be a case of nothing if I can manage it, with gas and air if I really have to, and pethidine if I'm going to die without it!

Hoping that CPN or Consultant will call me tomorrow too, need someone to talk to.

Sorry if I'm grumpy at the moment :o

We're all grumpy at the moment... We're pregnant!

I had a paddy in Ikea yesterday and nearly came away without the bookcase and shelf unit we went for...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

I was only lying on the bed for the last 40 mins or so so you don't have to spend lots of time on the bed.
I feel like you caz, blooming MWs waking me up to feed! I'm still thinking hospital is the way to go but want to come home ASAP but hopefully bump will come on a saturday nice and convenient like Chris did then Chris can stay at my mums for a day or 2 while i recuperate and hopefully lay good foundations for BFing while he isn't pestering me

Anyone know why first babies seem to come late rather than on time?

Come to think of it, has anyone heard of a baby arriving bang on time? (isn't it only like 2% that do?)

    Just curious really.. :)

I never got woken up with Aimee but they did want me to feed her for 20mins... Stuffed my nipple in her mouth and left me to it... She came off after about 3 mins but because I didn't want to go through it all again I lied and said it was about 15... Incidentally, our local hospital is now 'baby friendly' and they have strict guidlines they have to adhere to and one of them is a 'hands off' approach. Nobody can touch a womans breasts or the baby when they are trying to feed... And even if the hospital wasn't baby friendly, I wouldn't stand for anyone touching me now!

I'm 24 weeks today... My baby is officially viable!

    Well done on being viable!!

My hospital has a good breastfeeding policy:

I asked about it at my booking in appointment - they don't interferre, don't wake you up and don't take the baby away from you. Its pretty much a midwife led unit, and they are very pro breastfeeding, which is good.

I heard it was 4% Elle but still really small! I know the reason so few arrive on due date because its not an exact science of when conceived and length of gestation but not sure about 1st ones being late we should ask Caz when hers arrived and how accurate she thought her dates were ;)
Officially Chris was 3 days early but he was quite obviously well overdue! I just 'knew' he was due new yr eve but coz I didn't know my LMP I had to accept the scan date

Right anyone who is thinking of using a dummie there is a prize draw thing on MAM to get a free one http://www.mambaby.co.uk/mother_and_baby_soother.asp
I would also say keep an eye on the preg mags as they are often given away as freebies attached to mags
