My bleeding has been rather random it started as discharge which is orange then, discharge that has tinged with pink and lately brownish i did have a few days where it was very red and looked almosed like a nose bleed kind of thing! sorry if thats like TMI, i have had cramping sometimes worse than other times, i will mention it at the Drs i am rather worried about a MC but i suppose 1 doesnt mean another will follow i hope!! i might look into a private scan to put my mind at rest too. i hope everyone has a nice day!!! my EDD is 15/09/09 but im not 100% on that and i dont know how to add it too the list either !!!!0

Hey Happymoneysaver79,
I haven't been through what you have (pregnant with number 1) but do you have a helpful GP that you can normally speak to? If you do then I would make an appointment tomorrow morning and if possible get your OH along and explain just how scared they made you in failing to explain properly the potential procedures.
My cousin as a rare form of haemophilia so she went through 2 very high risk pregnancies and deliveries of her daughters as the doctors were concerned that if anything went wrong they wouldn't be able to control the bleeding, not just severe bleeding, even small bleeds could have had severe effects.
I think the difference was that her consultant was good at keeping her informed of all the options and explaining that until on the actual day there would be no decisions made as to how they would carry out the delivery because everything can change at the last minute and all they can do is make sure they are ready for all the options and then pick the one that is most appropriate on the day...
If you don't think they are explaining themselves well then get your OH to support you and tell them that you're scared and they need to explain themselves better

I was wondering if anyone out there was in a similar situation and could offer any advice. Sorry for the long post. xx
I hope you managed to get yourself off to sleep in the end, and feel a bit clamer this morning.
I've just had baby number 1, and haven't experienced what you have. I did have a spinal block though (not for baby, but for them to stitch me up afterwards - it was complicated. I thought he was doing cross stitch down there!), so I can tell you what that was like.
First they get you to roll on your side, and give you an injection of local anaesthetic so you can't feel it when they put in the spinal block (this was the only bit that hurt!) Then in goes the spinal block.
It works quite quickly. It kind of feels pins-and-needly to start with - once it properly takes effect you can still feel pressure at times, but you can't feel any pain. When they were stitching me I couldn't feel it most of the time. I could feel it a bit when they were stitching my clit together, but even that bit didn't hurt, so it must be good
The only bit that was kind of annoying was that it made me shiver a lot. I was wrapped up in a blanket, but I was shivering because of the drugs rather than it being cold if you see what I mean.
As well as stitching me up, they were also putting their hands in to check all the placental had come out. I could kind of feel that, but it just felt a bit odd! I would imagine if you had a CS, you would be abel to feel a bit of what was going on, but no pain. I would recommend DH or your mum or someone come along too, with strict instructions to distract you! And once the baby is there you will have the baby to distract you while they finish up.
I echo what Mrs Tine says though - sounds like you need to speak to someone asap on Monday to put your mind at rest. If you can't speak to your own midwife, maybe you could call the maternity unit, and ask if the duty midwife can give you a call, or pop round to visit? You could do that today, as there will always be a duty midwife on callIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Morning all
I didn't pop in yesterday, as most of it was spent in bed....I woke up feeling so ill, dh was a star and kept the kids entertained all day, brought me drinks etc.....
I have only flicked through the pages briefly. Welcome to any newly pregnant ladies, labour vibes to r.mac, and my sincere condolences to Mrs Tine, sorry about your grandad.
I think that covers most things!
SNIP - I really want dh to have the snip, not after this baby, but after baby 4, which I am hoping to have within 3yrs of this one. I will be 33 then and he will be 40, so I can't see there being a problem with us being allowed it. I just need to convince dh it is the easiest and best option for us;). If he really objects I will get sterilised, as even if we ever split up, I think 4 kids *pregnancies* is plenty for me (although I would like to foster in years to come).
I can't believe my 34wk scan is tomorrow. I was told not to bother getting pics as everything is too big to actually get a good picture. Scan is at 10.20 in the morning so I will update after I have had it.....I may get back on here a bit later, but as I spent all day in bed yesterday, I have all the uniforms/homework to get sorted and the hoovering etc....

Princesswoo - scans are different in each area we have 2 scans in fife however im sure in edin and perth you only have 1! we also get free complimentry treatment as and when we want it. i was also told that perth hosp will pay you to stop smoking if you are a smoker(dont smoke but overheard a friend talking about it)
happymoneysaver i think that you should phone the hosp and arrange to go in and speak to someone, its obviously not doing any good you sitting at home worrying and this may help to put your mind at ease.hope everything goes well for you xx
well 2 nights running and i have had the worse sleep ever?? am so fed up at the mo just wish she was here and i could get a good sleep lol!! OH told me last night that he is getting worried about me as i seem really distant and keep going off into my own little world? just feel that i have nothing to say at times and when i do i just moan about how fed up i am so dont say anything? cleaned up yest but thinking about scrubbing wooden floors to see if that helps lol! xxxWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
That's right searching - unless there is something 'wrong' or you go privately 20 weeks is the last scan. It's a long time to wait isn't it?
But things are diff as you progress (can't remember if you are a first timer?) and you get to know your baby & interact with them so it isn't so bad!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
