I need to go and grow myself a backbone and just get on with it I think.
Yes be stronger but if you want a GA then thats where you need to be strong and just say to the docs "I want and will be having a GA!"

I'm torn (luckily I don't need to make the choice) I hate needles and the idea of having one in my back fills me will more fer and dread than you'd think possible!
But also the thought of just waking up all grogy from the GA and not getting the important first hold of my baby would upset me too.
Having had trouble bonding with my son I think I'd chose to face my fear with the spinal.
As far as I know the risks with GA are just the ones that always apply plus bubs would maybe be sleepy when born but I don't know that for sure

Caz, gutted I'm too late to join you with the roses! I'm miserable and am just about holding back tears right now. Chris is at my mums and OH and me were meant to be going to the trafford centre and poss seeing a film while there but OH has decided "we don't have any money" and we're not going so as usual for the weekend we're stuck in the house doing nothing much! woo hoo
I even said well lets just have some lunch and a film no shops so I won't go spending loads but no he want to just sit on his arris all day!

I had an epidural with DS. TBH the worst thing is the local anaesthetic they inject into your back first. It doesn't last long and after that your back's numb anyway. I didn't really know when to push though and had to just go with what the midwives were telling me to do - but I wouldn't have missed it for the world! The pain is only for a few short minutes compared to the memories you'll have afterwards!

Sami - I know how you feel. I've just had to tell DS off again for lying to me about stuff, then I came in here and burst into tears! We were supposed to be going to Ikea - we haven't got any money so wouldn't be spending anything, but I love looking round anyway! Then just after DH got out the bath he got a call from work to take some machinery up to Sunderland

I shouldn't complain though - it's more money for the pram! So I'm stuck in on my own, tv is rubbish and I've fallen out with DS! Think I might go and watch Mama Mia which I got for Xmas and haven't watched yet......

    Hi all
Havent posted much in the last couple of days coz i felt i aint really got much to say.
Hope everyone is ok. ((((((hugs for tine))))))) and labour vibes for all those who need it.

I had an epidural and then a spinal block when i had to have an an emergency section, I personally couldnt go under general to have a section if i had the choice as I'm too scared of never waking up again :o

Well it's officially 1 year since me and OH met lol
he woke up yesterday and decided he wants to redecorate the living room  took me dado rail down, started stripping the wall then said it's too much effort so he's just gonna paper over it! what a muppet!
But at least he has now relented and the boys will be sharing a room, he seemed to think i was going to give up my bedroom and sleep downstairs so they could have their own rooms! :rotfl:

We are hopefully going to be getting his daughter for the weekend next weekend, as long as we have the car by then! she lives about a 50 min drive so need a car, usually his mum picks him up but if she does she wont let her stay here  and we are taking her to haven with us too which will be nice.

and I'm officially carrying a small adult on the front of my body, everyone and i mean everyone keeps comenting on my ever growing huge bump, even the avon lady this morning! she said ''oh they may of got your dates wrong, you are huge!'' yeah cheers!
And Nan still thinks i'm hiding a second bairn in there!
I thought i'm so big maybe because i'm fat but you can clearly see it's not a fat belly, it's perfectly shaped like a proper bump, is pretty high up and keeps getting in the way! :o
I am lot bigger than I was with DS, I wasnt even this big with him at 32 weeks!
    :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j

Hi all.. Not got much to say for myself today. Seem to be feeling better than yesterday - probably the lemonade and Mini Eggs I had for breakfast! ;)

Got to get ready to go out soon.. Asda to see if the baby event stuff is out and to get stuff for a fry-up for tea, Wickes to arrange the kitchen planners to come round and the pram shop for a browse :D Sami, nothing to stop you going out on your own for a mooch, is there?

Got to make the most of the rest of the day cos it's OH's last day off for the next three weeks :( Mind you, next one is Valentine's Day! :) Anyone got any plans for that? Think we're just going to chill out at home - it's my birthday the week after so I get flowers for that as they're cheaper then! :o

I just wanted to go out like a "proper couple":o OH is the only male company my age I get really, I spend all week with just Chris and other Mums n tots.
I think I'm gonna go to mothercare to see if there's any nice clothes for me - I don't need anything yet but the only thing i need is from Ikea and I only ever go Ikea in the week when its not as busy.

Ps. once your bubs are here and a bit mobile I recommend a trip to Ikea Chris loves it! there's alway other kids there to play with and he likes trying out all the beds and chairs its mucho fun

oh and we don't 'do' valentines coz its OH's birthday on the 12th so we've usually got plans for birthday stuff
