We've bought baby stuff!
:j :T
Our Asda had the stuff out already. We got the playgym, nappy wrapper, nappy wrapper refills, breast pump and microwave steriliser, plus a pack of seven body suits in white/yellow/greenOnly thing I wanted that they didn't have was the Gina Ford book but I can probably get that cheaper from ebay/amazon second hand anyway.
They had other stuff which wasn't on the leaflet, including Huggies potty training kits in blue or pink (I think they were £5) and a bouncy chair which was £15 (apparently SIL offered us hers but OH turned it down cos it was a vibrating one which used to turn itself on and off - not the first possessed thing in her house and we don't want the ghosts to come with it!). Lots of bulk packs of nappies and wipes there too.
We looked down the usual baby aisle first and the steriliser was there for £29.97 (£10 in the baby aisle). Same with the nappy wrapper too.
We left it too late to go to the pram shop, but OH insisted we went to the small Mothercare in town so that I could show him which prams I did and didn't like. On the walk through the car park, we saw a lady strapping her car seat in her car. The chassis of the pram was by the car door and I spotted it was a SX Linear one like I want so whispered that to OH. He then asked the lady (think she'd spotted us looking!) how she got on with it. She said she liked it but the car seat not having the base was awkward at first and it was a bit wide for some shop doors (where they have double doors you need to push open both of them, not just one) but she did really like it. She showed us how it folded up too.
OH now very excited about going to a big Mothercare and Toys 'r' Us so that we can try them in the boot of my car.. We either need to go to Hull or Lincoln for that. Think we'll go on Valentines' Day if his interested holds that long!0 -

Well chucked the chicken in the micro to defrost - decided it is still going to take too long, SO, I am going to do tuna pasta bake instead and have the chicken tomorrow...
Oooh caz I didn't realise you were having a HB, I must have missed that post, or that piece of info just flowed through my sieve of a brain:)
The problem with me is I don't want the boys to go anywhere, but I don't want anyone else in the house either! I know that is probably a bit mad but I really want it just to be me, dh and the midwives, with the boys playing psp's/watching dvd's upstairs...they can then come down after baby is here, and cleaned up a bit, to meet him/her. I am now worrying that they may get a bit nosey and walk in at the wrong time and be traumatised! Or I may get a bit vocal and have them scared as to what is going on, I really don't want to be worrying about them whilst I am in labour. I am thinking now, it would be easier just to get someone to either pick them up or stay here with them (this is easier said than done anyway) while I go to hospital, but am I just being silly???

Searching, I have a big dog and two cats, they are all getting locked out:p Not that they are going to be very happy about it. Then again they aren't spoilt so won't hate us for it;)

Elle - sounds like you had a good day. I thought the Asda baby event started on Tuesday??
Got scan in morning, then I am going into work to have lunch with the girls. If I had known the stuff might be on sale already I would have planned to go down tomorrow whilst I am out anyway:( oh well will go on Tuesday as I planned.

redmel no you are not being silly i had the same thoughts. how old are the boys? can you explain to them about having baby at home and that it may get noisey but its will be ok etc? get a box with dvd, magazines, treats and that should keep them entertained in their room for a while! luckily megan and lewis are 8 and 7 and play a lot with the little ones and i know if anything was going on they would keep them entertained until things were organised! but am planning on filling a box this week just in case! but for some reason i usually go during the night so am planning this will be the same again lol??What's for you won't go past you0

They are 6 & 8, they can and do entertain themselves for long periods of time, I will try and explain about the giving birth at home, but with them both being boys, they have never seen the downstairs area of a girl...and are still confused as to how the baby is going to come out!!! They just thought you go to hospital and the doctors take it out of your tummy.
I may have to find a book that explains it a bit clearer to them, without it being too graphic:o
I just don't really want our selfish families involved, if at all possible:rolleyes:

Yeah it would... It would be a case of locking him in a particular room.
