  • Right - have had a quick scan through and no baby McSmiler YET! But a baby son for bekki - congratulations :A

Sami - no-one answered you about your facebook request. I would agree, ask why they want to join...I know that some of the girls here were quite relieved that it was a 'closed' group IYSWIM - she may just not have 'come out' as pregnant yet :D

Any - I think that this has been answered by Durham and various others but my Stokke only had 3 boxes...but I only bought the buggy, carrycot and then had the raincovers etc in the 3rd. I didn't buy a footmuff or parasol or car seat etc.

I would call Stokke direct if you are having problems with Kiddicare - all my boxes were original Stokke boxes if I remember correctly.

MrsT - sorry to hear about your grandfather. No consolation I know but at least you are able to fly back now. A few weeks more and it would be more difficult. ((HUGS))

(((HUGS))) Feelie. I really don't have any advice but well done to your hubby for giving up smoking, I really hope he keeps it up.

Ooo - I will definitely be going to the bump to baby show - Telford is literally 15 minutes down the road from me. I will also be a mummy by then :D

Might see you there then MFD, my Aunt lives up near Shrewsbury so she might come with me... I'm just watching hubby paint the living room... Was helping but he sent me to have a rest... He seems to have it all under control... No point interupting him... Not sure I like the colour though... Hoping it will grow on me when it's dry....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

    Hi troops,

I just felt Beanie from the outside!! I was on the sofa with OH and when I felt it, I sat for a while with my hand on my bump just to make absolutely sure. Then I shifted up very close to OH so i'm nearly sitting on him and said 'darling' ...'yes' he said (thinking he's on to a winner here) 'do you want to feel beanie kick on the outside' ....OH looks deflated and then horrified 'er no' he says. So I shift back down to my side of the sofa.

Think he might be a bit squeamish, and couple that with the fact he thought I was about to suggest an early night - I shall just have to revel in it all by myself!!

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday too so this has made me feel better (despite OH's reaction). One of my client's wives had a still birth at 8 months. I have never met her but my client was gutted. I cried all the way home in the car. Going to eat a bag of Haribo now because its the only thing to make me feel better!

Mystery has been solved :D "missx" was lurking and saw my message and PM'd me. I shall keep my lips sealed until she decides to reveal herself - so glad that I'm 'in' on it otherwise the suspense and mystery would kill me!

I couldn't remember exactly when u were due and thought what a shame that b2b show looks really close for MFD - glad you can go! x

ooooo this thread moves fast ive just read through about 40 pages, lol.

I have a few quick q's if you ladies dont mind answering.

With my previous pregnancies i lived in england but i now live in scotland and someone mentioned that you only get a 20 week scan here, is that true, as i have no idea when i am due?

I am trying to get an early private scan - to put my mind at rest as i have had a 2 MC and a baby that was born an angel at 23 weeks and i have a bicornorate uterus. But also because i just need to see its there and its ok i feel sick all day long but i dont actually feel pregnant iykwim. But im finding it really hard to get anyone to scan me before 9 weeks. I have heard the RVI in newcastle do private scans for £90 with a consultant so i might try there. Has anyone been here and are they any good?

I havent been to the doctors yet as im not ready to start answering the endless questions over and over again to 3 different people in 1 appointment, its tiring and makes the pregnancy feel so much longer. It also brings back all the bad memories so im holding off as long as i can. Maybe im slightly in denial knowing that once i go to the doctors it then becomes offical. And i then have to spend my time couting the days to the next appointment. I guess im just enjoying the monent.

I have complete and total pregnancy brain already, although i dont think i ever got it back after my DD, i can hardly remember what i did 30 minutes.

It would be my ultimate dream to go for my scan and find out im months further along than i am.

Princesswoo - from what I hear off the ladies in here scotlands care of preg ladies is much better than englands :T for you
I would say at least tell ur GP as they will prob offer you an early scan on the NHS as you have history of complications
    Good luck xx

  • Woo - There is a couple of ladies here from Scotland that are due imminently! Caz or r.mac will pop in sooner or later to offer help.

Sami - I'm due 2nd march and they will only let you go 10 days over here so latest Bubba should come in theory is 13th  (yes, that will be Friday 13th!!) - I am guessing by 20th or so I will be looking to get out and about a bit (all being well).

Bubba and I were cutting some shapes on the dancefloor last night which I really enjoyed (I haven't had a good dance since I got pregnant) but which also meant I was in agony in bed last night with pelvic and hip pain  It doesn't help when you are not in your own bed with your own pillows etc.

Both hubby and I have spent most of the afternoon on the sofa whilst DSS has been building a massive meccano crane on the living room floor!

Have gone for it and bought a Phil & Teds double buggy in the Kiddicare sale. That would be my one piece of advice for all you first timers - if you're planning on having two within about 3 years of each other, buy a Phil & Teds for your first, then the double kit will only cost you about £60 to turn it into a tandem. Ta da! Really wish someone had told me that when we had Imogen.

Still, priced it in Mothercare (for Sport double, cocoon and rain cover) at just short of £500 and paid £319 at Kiddicare (plus will get 4% cashback!)
Best advice ever there from Lu ;)
I can't beleive that my Mum got my SX 3D for over £300 and I'm expecting it to reach £90 on ebay if I'm lucky :( and have just bought the P&T for pretty much the same amount (although did get carseat too which was another £63) I soo wish I'd thought ahead and got a P&T for chris!

MFD I wouldn't book tickets if its on the 20th just in case but you may well be fine to go seeing as your bubs will literally "pop" out like on that old beer advert and then me very well behaved so you'll be nice and rested by then ;)

I think I will refuse an induction and put it back a few extra days (I'm starting to feel sorry for the MWs that deal with awkward little me!) although by my dates Chris wasn't early like the scan date said and was exactly 14 days overdue so hopefully i won't need one!
Does anyone know what the stats are for inductions on 2nd+ timers??
