I went through a stage of crying at the reveal on DIY SOS! Silly bloomin' hormones!

Have gone for it and bought a Phil & Teds double buggy in the Kiddicare sale. That would be my one piece of advice for all you first timers - if you're planning on having two within about 3 years of each other, buy a Phil & Teds for your first, then the double kit will only cost you about £60 to turn it into a tandem. Ta da! Really wish someone had told me that when we had Imogen.

Still, priced it in Mothercare (for Sport double, cocoon and rain cover) at just short of £500 and paid £319 at Kiddicare (plus will get 4% cashback!)

Off to watch the new CSI. Had a hard day taking Imogen to ballet, testing prams at Mothercare, wallpapering and taking Imogen to the stables to see a friend's horse, phew!

Myaccount - they're doing the scans at 10 weeks here as, apparently, it's more accurate for dating. So they encourage you to go & see the MW as early as possible. She has 15 mins with you to take some basics, gives you the pack of stuff to fill in for next time and books your scan & booking in app't. I was shocked, all very efficient.

Fingers crossed it all goes okay for you after such a long wait.

Anyone been to Asda today and noticed if their store has the Baby Event stuff out yet?

If we get up before lunchtime tomorrow, OH and I are going to browse in the pram shop near our Asda so might call in if they've started putting the bits out (otherwise I'm banned from supermarkets for this month - very costly! :().

It seems to be different in different stores. DH went to one and said they had nothing, then we went to another and they had moved all the baby stuff to a new aisle. I was really dizzy though so didnt check if they'd put the prices down :o I did see the nappy wrapper bin thing though and they dont normally have it, so i think it probably has started in that store.
  • Lu T that sounds much better than here! Much more reassuring as 2 weeks seems like forever at this stage! I believe accuracy under 10 weeks is -/+ 3 days, but after 12 weeks its -/+ 7 days. Our "12" week one is purely for dating (unless you're at risk), so it would make sense to do it earlier.

thanks everyone i darnt even think mor ethan 3 days ahead at the moment as i worry so much but i also know i cant do anything about it so i try not to stress .... i was going to try and get an early scan to ease my mind is this possible? due to my MC last time? i dont even care if i see anything id just like to know its in the right place and there is a herat beat? ive heard ppl get these but i dont know under what circumstances... is it only if your not sure of your dates? and what is the earliest the can tell me if there is a HB?

Ta - didnt realise i had so many questions until i just posted to sday hi ... now its all coming out lol
    Hello and welcome :D
I had a teeny bit of bleedin at 4 weeks and was offered a scan to be done once I was 6wks I had the scan at exactly 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat I've heard a few women say they've had early scans purely because of a previous MC so i'm sure you'll be allowed one.

The general info is that light bleeding is usually ok as long as it is just light ie no pain or getting heavy but do get it checked (as I'm sure you will) x

we bought the phil and teds and i have been using it this week to get charlie use to it and i love it, it is great to push and one of the easier prams to fold. charlie loves it and makes racing car noises when he is out and about. i think i got most of the accessories with it but am looking into the footmuff with it being so cold however i think that the quinny one will fit into it? but i fully agree that if your planning on 2 close together then spend wisely and buy something you can use:D

I have already discussed with GP and he has said that he will arrange it when I get my 6 week check as they have a policy to wait until then. They wont give my OH a vasectomy as he is only 27 otherwise I wouldnt be going down this route.
Can I ask did ur pct have some kind of hard and fast rule about having the snip?
I've heard from somewhere that age doesn't matter if the guy is married with kids  my OH is considering it but he's only 24 in feb

LOL I just asked OH if he would consider a vasectomy - not now, but sometime in the future.. I'm assuming by the way he stuck his fingers in his ears and loudly sang "la la la..." that that's a no! (good job the pill works well for me then!)
  • I got a scan at 7 weeks with this one because I fainted at home and had what my hubby described as a shaking fit???

Doctors couldnt find a reason for it, no issue with blood sugars, blood pressure or anything like that but did a scan just to make sure everything was OK and there was a lovely strong heartbeat.

It is really reassuring to see it, so if you can get an early one, do, .......just dont go fainting to get one, thats a bit extreme (and you scare your OH a bit):rotfl:
