  • Tara - sounds like you have a battle on your hands there - as someone else said, your daughter should be able to get help from ACAS .. other place to try is Citizens Advice. Here's hoping it's just that he's clueless, and will behave once he finds out what he should be doing!

Elle (I think) re smear tests, one of my many leaflets i've been given over the past few days says I should go for one after 3 monts of baby being born - I would imagine that going while you are pregnant wouldn't be recommended, but it might be worth calling the surgery to check?

I'm going to type up birth story shortly, and post it when I've got piccies onto the computer. Isabella is being really good at the moment (touch wood ;) ) and we managed a relatively good nights sleep last night. And she's still (just about) asleep now, so I'm making the most of the peace and quiet ;)

I knew from the start that my baby would be late, most babies in my family have been. She was 15 days late in the end, but as I had thought of pregnancy as 42 weeks in case she was late, I was ok! In many parts of the world an average pregnancy is considered 41 weeks not 40.

I had morning sickness until 22 weeks, then it came back at 30 weeks! The babies movement didn't seem to affect mine, but I think it's quite normal as the baby will be squishing your stomach up. Best of luck!!!

Have you seen the consultant yet? I have an appt in 2 weeks but won't be opting for aother c-section unless I can possibly help it right at the end. Ideally I'd like a home birth, but OH and midwife nearly fell off their chairs :rotfl: Apparently you don't get left alone much if you're on the labour ward as they want to check your scar every 2 hours or so. Am waiting to hear this direct from the consultant, but friend's mum is a midwife (my midwife with DD) and she said to expect it.

Can't they just leave me alone to get on with it? Honestly, you'd think my first birth was a right palaver. Oh yes, it was. Nevermind. I'll just have to let go of the control freak in me for those few hours/days.

After my c-sec (1997) i had a VBAC (2000) - and do remember being checked constantly to make sure she was the right way round and nothing was happening with my scar.
This time, the midwife said I wouldn't be allowed a home birth (i'm a wimp anyway!), but she said I should be allowed to use the midwife led unit if the consultant agrees - as i've had a VBAC since the section. Saw the consultant last week, and he checked babies position, and had a good poke of my scar - and agreed to the midwife unit - but not home.

I suppose its 'just incase' - at the midwife unit you're just a trolley dash away from the main maternity ward.
The consultant did say that only 1/1000 previous section scars cause any problems.

Kind of like going up and over a hill fastish in a car.

It was lying in the bath and making the warm water go over my stomach that always made him wriggle and roll over. Bless :)

Has anyone had or know anyone who's had one of these?

It looks like just what I want but I can't find any reviews on them anywhere. They're on the website of our local babycare centre but not in stock so I can't go and try it out. I like to have a good furk and fiddle!

I've never seen or heard of that but it looks very similar to the icandy pear and a few others, have you come across the icandy ones? they tend to only be available in shops or on their own website because they have a strict price fixing thing with suppliers

Thanks for all the replies. Just to point out that it's someone that works with my daughter that is pregnant, but she is hoping to try for a baby in the next couple of years hence why this has worried her as well. It seems I misheard her on the phone as well, the pregnant woman is in her early 20's and has worked there since leaving school, over 6 years so I'm sure that she has a case to be called an employee.
Too many children, too little time!!!
